Hello World

July 9, 2012 · 9 Comments

Woke up with a new sense of determination this morning! I’ve been working on creating my very first blog, so instead of sitting back & saying “I’m going to do it,” I didn’t hesitate & just did it! I have to say, I owe this sudden spark of motivation to my amazing hike yesterday & my accomplishment of finishing The Passion Test by Janet & Chris Atwood, which I started reading about a month ago when I traveled to Jamaica.

I have such a connection with nature, that it always brings about a feeling that I can’t explain. Hiking alongside my friend Lisa, I felt alive, calm, passionate, determined, but above all…I felt purely happy! When I finished reading The Passion Test…{In my defense, it took me so long to read it because it’s a book that requires action & for you to really dig deep down inside yourself to determine what your passions in life are & to live your life in favor of those passions. Essentially live a happy life. I highly recommend the book to everyone of all ages}…perseverance took over me & I chose not to procrastinate on something I really wanted to do!

So here it is, the Dreamery! I can’t wait to share the moments in my life that make me smile & hopefully inspire others to do the same. I’ll leave you with some pictures of my incredible hike!

[…] It’s been quite some time since I’ve written. The holidays can be hectic but worthwhile, which is why I took complete advantage of the cheerful spirit and mini vacation, to say the least. Christmas not only had delicious, mouth-watering food, but it had smiles, love and happiness from my family and closest friends. I even got a snowy send off! And as the only way to end such an amazing and rewarding year, I found myself road-tripping to Las Vegas with my closest girlfriends. Looking back at this past year I can’t believe all that has happened and that I’ve done, ever since I began choosing in favor of my passions, which led to the start of The Dreamery. […]

Dreamery Headshot_2020

A Lover of Nature & Kindness, constantly smitten by the simple pleasures of life. Travel fills my soul with bliss & inspiration. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing. I love the outdoors & live for al fresco dinner parties, cozy candlelit romantic affairs with warm fires & blankets to share.

I dream about these things, it’s true. Yes, it’s all the small details in life that drive me & everything I do because we all deserve to celebrate every special moment in our lives…

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
