Friday Favorites

August 24, 2012 · Leave a Comment

It’s been a restless week, but I’m hoping to regain my energy back and clear my thoughts. This weekend I’ll be looking forward to celebrating my dad’s birthday and my best friend’s quarter-century birthday in Atlantic City. Now that’s a milestone! I can’t wait to dance the night away with some of the best girls I know, especially since it will be the last time I see them for a long time. Pretty sad…

I actually was bothered this morning after hearing an incident regarding vicious rumors and friends defying a bond. Mean girl-esk. It just appalls me that certain people think it’s okay to degrade and humiliate others, for a laugh. The reality is these people are so insecure about themselves they have to meddle with the integrity of ones they know, only to make themselves appear better. Well, it doesn’t work like that. It actually makes you and that of which you are associated with, as ugly as the rumors that were made up. I know this is a pretty serious subject for a Friday but I need to get it off my mind because I am someone who believes one should treat everyone with dignity and kindness, even if they don’t themselves. In the end, you know you’re putting good out there and this above image made me feel a little better about the issue.

I hope you all have a beautiful weekend and here are my favorite things from the past week!

I usually buy candles based on the container they’re in because I know I’ll reuse them as containers or vases. Boiling out the bottoms of unburned wax is messy, but the daydream believer stumbled upon an easy and mess free way to freeze your candles holders instead.

Summer is far from over. So enjoy the last remaining beautiful nights outside enjoying a delicious meal and drinks with family and friends. Cuddle up by the fireplace and watch the stars reflect onto the lake. Hoping this will be my home in the future.

I fell in love with the mixture of old and new world style in Amrita Singh’s jewelry. These pieces are unique, colorful, creative and the perfect statement piece for any outfit.

Being someone who mostly eats fresh produce, it can be a struggle to keep all that food from going bad too quickly. My Thirty Spot shares her great tips for storing fruits and vegetables. I’m printing this out and putting it on my refrigerator.

I have a thing for completely open sunroom, but I loved this one so much because it gave me more inspiration for my room. Just the right pop of color against the neutrals and rattan.

Rachel Zoe can do no wrong in my book. Whites, knee-high tan boots and a deep olive bag…I think this will be my go to fall look.

and if you just can’t figure out how to tackle a situation, take a step back venture to the middle of nowhere by yourself and appreciate the things around you that make you happy. The second I saw this quote, it stuck with me, you can’t just sit around for things to happen..you just have to take it in your control.

Dreamery Headshot_2020

A Lover of Nature & Kindness, constantly smitten by the simple pleasures of life. Travel fills my soul with bliss & inspiration. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing. I love the outdoors & live for al fresco dinner parties, cozy candlelit romantic affairs with warm fires & blankets to share.

I dream about these things, it’s true. Yes, it’s all the small details in life that drive me & everything I do because we all deserve to celebrate every special moment in our lives…
