Oxblood Lace

October 8, 2012 · 5 Comments

If there’s one fabric I favor most, it would be lace. The second I saw this oxblood fit and flare lace dress I knew I just had to try it on. There wasn’t a single thing I didn’t like about it, I just couldn’t take it off. I loved the rich red hue against my skin tone and its simplistic cut. From the corner of my eye I spotted this malachite green jeweled necklace, another one of my favorite Fall colors, and knew it was the perfect accessory. The great thing about this dress is that I’m able to dress it up, like I did for my cousin’s wedding, or I can pair it with a chambray top and black loafers for a casual look.

you and I have a soft spot for lace. Seriously. If there is one thing to know about me, it’s that I love ANYTHING and EVERYTHING lace.

I’d probably fill my entire closet with lace pieces if I could!

I can’t get enough of that dress (I’m a sucker for anything red-hued), but those shoes are great, too!

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
