Award Time {Liebster Blog Award}

October 30, 2012 · 7 Comments

The day before I made the big move to Arizona, I got some very happy news…The Dreamery has been nominated for the Liebster Blog Award by This Nerdy Girl!! Thank you so much, it couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. It was thoughtful and exciting enough to be recognized for a blogging award, but what exactly is the Liebster Award?

It’s been said that somewhere along the recent history of blogging someone in Germany felt they needed to do something nice for the rest of us bloggers and decided to start this award. It’s not only an award you receive but one you give too

How it works…

  • When you receive the award, you post 11 random facts about yourself and answer 11 questions from the person who nominated you.
  • Pass the award onto 11 other blogs (make sure you tell them you nominated them!) and ask them 11 questions.
  • You are not allowed to nominate the blog who nominated you!” (You can google the image, there are plenty of them!)
  • PS: Make sure the blogs you chose have 200 or LESS followers

A little about me…

  1. I believe in following your dreams
  2. If I could I would spend every second of my life outdoors, especially when surrounded by nature
  3. I just moved to Tucson, Arizona.
  4. I’ve always wanted {and will one day} volunteer at an orphanage in Africa
  5. I would love to own a garden/farm where people can pick their own and enjoy the outdoors with a flower shop and a pie ice cream cafe alongside it {it would help fund my own philanthropy too}
  6. I would love to photograph professionally, especially food styling
  7. I’m a free spirit at heart
  8. I will travel all over the world and places not typically visited
  9. I want to learn how to surf
  10. I’ve never been to Disney World, but have a childhood love for the Little Mermaid
  11. I’m planning on competing in the Tough Mudder next year

Question and Answer time…

  1. What is your favorite food? My dad’s lemon-garlic grilled squid and a warm fruit pie
  2. If you could hangout with anyone for a day who would it be? Emily Schuman of cupcakes and cashmere or Aran Goyoaga of Cannelle et Vanille
  3. Where is your most desired place to travel? Italy {but what I’d love the most is to volunteer in Africa}
  4. Describe your personality in one word. “dreamer”
  5. What is your favorite pastime? baking a pie with the season’s freshest fruits
  6. What is your favorite season? Spring and Fall
  7. Why? there is nothing more beautiful than the sight of trees so deeply green {orange and red in fall} in color, beautiful flowers emerging from the ground or the amazing produce available to make delicious treats
  8. What is a secret talent of yours? I can cross stitch
  9. What are you interested in most? travel, photography, and helping others
  10. What would you do if you won the lottery? Pay off my student loans, buy a home in San Diego and start my own philanthropy
  11. What is your favorite costume? Satine from Moulin Rouge

Now it’s your turn…

1. When do you feel the most like “you”?

2. What are the top 5 things you are passionate about?

3. The best meal I ever ate was…

4. If you could be doing one thing right now what would it be?

5. Where would you love to live?

6. What is your dream job?

7. What is your guiltiest pleasure?

8. I wish I knew how to…

9. What is your favorite quote?

10. What would you do if money wasn’t an issue?

11. Most cherished item you own?

A Lover of Nature & Kindness, constantly smitten by the simple pleasures of life. Travel fills my soul with bliss & inspiration. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing. I love the outdoors & live for al fresco dinner parties, cozy candlelit romantic affairs with warm fires & blankets to share.

I dream about these things, it’s true. Yes, it’s all the small details in life that drive me & everything I do because we all deserve to celebrate every special moment in our lives…

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
