Friday Favorites

November 16, 2012 · 3 Comments

This week was the first time it hit me that the holiday season is in full swing, and I miss the spirit of the East Coast. I finally got my dresser and mattress, so I spent my free time watching CrazyStupidLove, countless times, sorting and organizing my Pinterest. You can say I went a little overboard, but I was getting inspired with holiday decor ideas, finishings for my dresser, and of course new recipes to try out. I have a few in mind for Thanksgiving lunch I’ll be celebrating with this Sunday with the girls. I also found myself at a networking event for women who own their own businesses, and had my eyes opened to the importance of supporting local vendors. In my efforts to live more sustainable, I’ve gathered a list of local Tucson vendors I will need to stop by. We already love, and frequently visit, Cafe Poca Cosa and Hotel Congress’s The Cup Cafe. Get ready for some culinary adventures ahead, our list of things to do in Tucson is growing. And on a side note, Saturday is World Prematurity Day, check out March of Dimes to find out details how you can help!

Happy Weekend!

{GT’s organic raw kombucha…apparently it prevents you from getting sick, don’t know how I feel about the taste of it}

    I find that when family comes, I am much more in the holiday spirit. My daughter and granddaughter will arrive from Maryland on Monday, and we’ll have houseful of others in and out for a week. Tiring…..but oh so wonderful.

Dreamery Headshot_2020

A Lover of Nature & Kindness, constantly smitten by the simple pleasures of life. Travel fills my soul with bliss & inspiration. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing. I love the outdoors & live for al fresco dinner parties, cozy candlelit romantic affairs with warm fires & blankets to share.

I dream about these things, it’s true. Yes, it’s all the small details in life that drive me & everything I do because we all deserve to celebrate every special moment in our lives…

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
