I’m Loving…{Anthropologie Portugal 2013)

Last week I got Anthropologie’s spring catalogue and of all things to seek inspiration from, this look book channeled the beauty of Portugal. Recently, I’ve grown homesick, not of New Jersey but of my family, Portugal, waking up to rolling hills of pine trees, and afternoons sitting beneath the vineyards talking of the old country with my grandfather. There’s an unknown enjoyment in letting my natural curls loose, and somehow Portugal is the only place I feel comfortable doing so, which is why these photographs brought back so many wonderful memories. And so the tears surfaced on my eyes and I yearned to be in this beautiful country…I just love the deep “blue of the azulego” with designs so distinct of traditional Portuguese history just like the patterns, colors and flowiness of fabrics reminiscent of days dancing in pretty lace dresses to the sounds of the accordion…

“The breeze that blows through the garden is the same breeze from twenty years ago, from a hundred years ago, from before there were stones upon this place.”

A Lover of Nature & Kindness, constantly smitten by the simple pleasures of life. Travel fills my soul with bliss & inspiration. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing. I love the outdoors & live for al fresco dinner parties, cozy candlelit romantic affairs with warm fires & blankets to share.

I dream about these things, it’s true. Yes, it’s all the small details in life that drive me & everything I do because we all deserve to celebrate every special moment in our lives…

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
