Lost At Sea

August 1, 2013 · 2 Comments

5ec040eed27240e3d31a6254f925f673Oh, I’m missing everything about the sea. I’m a nature girl at heart, but I’ve always felt a special connection to water ever since I was a little girl, another reason I find Mermaids to be such enchanting creatures, but that’s another story. The scent of the water, the sound of crashing waves, the wild air, the glistening reflection from the sun, make me ever so happy to just be me. I mean there isn’t anything saltwater can’t cure, it cleanses my soul. One simple morning during my trip back home to the east coast, just wasn’t enough. Gazing upon the sea, I could see all my dreams flooding within me, I knew I just couldn’t be away much longer. Water always manages to bring me back to me. It’s an unexplainable feeling of home and encouragement, that any wildest dream is possible, and drowns out the negativity within. What an experience it would be to go sailing and see “nothing more beautiful than the way the ocean refuses to stop kissing the shoreline, not matter how many times it is sent away”-Anonymous5d5a9340a6b99d11aa1510ecbcddaebbIt still amazes me that spending three long summer months year after year in Portugal, I have not seen nearly enough of this beautiful coastal country, including the Heart Sea Arch in the Tranquil Sea

Dreamery Headshot_2020

A Lover of Nature & Kindness, constantly smitten by the simple pleasures of life. Travel fills my soul with bliss & inspiration. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing. I love the outdoors & live for al fresco dinner parties, cozy candlelit romantic affairs with warm fires & blankets to share.

I dream about these things, it’s true. Yes, it’s all the small details in life that drive me & everything I do because we all deserve to celebrate every special moment in our lives…

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
