The holiday season is about giving back to those in our lives who we love, but it’s also about helping and reaching out to the many people in need. Today on Giving Tuesday, give a monetary donation or lend a helping hand, it’s what the holidays are all about.
The best place to lend a helping hand is in your community. Find a local food shelter. This is also the perfect time to clean out your closet, donate your older winter coats for a drive and other clothes, shoes, bags and household goods to Goodwill. You can visit a hospital and make holiday cards for patients, as well as the hard-working nurses and doctors. Find out if you can decorate ornaments and tree with the children in a ward at your local hospital with leftover decorations you don’t use {this is actually something I’m working on}. And let’s not forget the elderly too, spend time reading or caroling at a senior center. And if you are truly feeling giving, what better way to bring joy to a home than by adopting a family.
