Hello Spring

March 20, 2014 · 2 Comments

hello springHello Spring, it’s finally nice to feel your warmth, and smell the distinct sweetness in the air. It couldn’t be a more perfect either, as it is National Happiness day, and who wouldn’t be happy when months of fresh blooms, beach days, outdoor festivals, barbecues, and endless brisk nights beneath the stars will be plentiful. Spring excites me because it’s the season that is bright and color, and truly makes people happy. Not to mention, we can finally step outside of our burrowed dens inside for fresh air and nature. With this new season, my favorite, I always like to create of list of goals or things I’d like to do because there are so many things to look forward to and be inspired by…

  1. Do as much as I can outside; which includes exercising, bringing my laptop beneath the shady vines to work, and finding new trails to hike
  2. Put my attention on creating a beautiful little garden, and truly dedicate myself to it
  3. Take advantage of the bountiful array of fruits and vegetables, to create healthy and delicious dishes
  4. Focus on things that bring my peach and happiness, like having fresh flowers from the garden inside at all times
  5. Go to as many fairs, farmer and flea markets in the NYC area, because there are plenty including this one
  6. Get some culture; go to museums, botanical gardens and parks, and venture to a new small town with lovely shops and go eat at all the NYC and NJ restaurants I’ve been craving
  7. Visit wineries and breweries in the area, which includes this tour
  8. Attend a music festival, I’ve got plans to attend Firefly Festival because I love Jack Johnson
  9. Enjoy doing nothing outside, and being at peace
  10. Go on a picnic with friends
  11. Learn to play “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” on my ukulele
  12. Go on new adventures, embrace everything the new season brings. I promise myself to not waste any day, make each day memorable and radiate happiness, peace and motivation as much as I can. I will smile with the sunrise, and the sunset.

Hope you have an amazing first day of Spring! Are there any goals or things that you’re looking forward to do in the next few months?

Dreamery Headshot_2020

A Lover of Nature & Kindness, constantly smitten by the simple pleasures of life. Travel fills my soul with bliss & inspiration. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing. I love the outdoors & live for al fresco dinner parties, cozy candlelit romantic affairs with warm fires & blankets to share.

I dream about these things, it’s true. Yes, it’s all the small details in life that drive me & everything I do because we all deserve to celebrate every special moment in our lives…

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
