Festival Looks

March 25, 2014 · 1 Comment

boho glam The one thing I look forward to the most about Spring and Summer, are outdoor markets and festivals, especially ones involving music and food. Last year, I didn’t have the opportunity to attend an outdoor concert, but this year I’m looking to spend my 25th birthday amongst great friends, underneath the sunshine, taking part in many fun activities and listening to great music at the Firefly Music festival. Aside from music, Spring finally means I can wear my staple wardrobe pieces of light and flowy white dresses, denim shorts with boho styled tops, simple strapped sandals, and as much florals as possible. All the makings for the perfect festival look too! What exactly is essential to wear when attending and outdoor music festival?

1. Oversized sunnies are the first thing in order for keeping that bright sun from seeing your favorite artists. And if hats are your thing, don’t leave home without it either. Forever 21 sunglasses

2. Keep your hands free for dancing and grubbing, with a medium-sized satchel and carry-all bag you can easily slip over your shoulder. Target crossbody bag

3. Although, it can get hot during the day, most big name artists perform at night so have a light cardigan for brisk winds.

4. Make a statement with bold prints, festive fringe, and floral crowns. Festival Looks

American Rag jumpsuit, Zulily crochet crop top paired with high wasted denim shorts, Daisy print outfit, Braids and flowers, flower nails, Bob Marley outfit from @Forever21 Instagram, Flower wrapped bun

5. The second most important thing, is wearing comfortable shoes. A long day on your feet dancing, and participating in many festival activities require light flats and sandals. sandal

A Lover of Nature & Kindness, constantly smitten by the simple pleasures of life. Travel fills my soul with bliss & inspiration. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing. I love the outdoors & live for al fresco dinner parties, cozy candlelit romantic affairs with warm fires & blankets to share.

I dream about these things, it’s true. Yes, it’s all the small details in life that drive me & everything I do because we all deserve to celebrate every special moment in our lives…

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
