Friday Favorites

June 27, 2014 · Leave a Comment

Friday Favorites You couldn’t ask for a more perfect first week of summer, and way to end the work week that seemed to drag on. The sun is shining brightly over the Hudson River as boats sail by, and the desire to be outside is just too much for me to contain. Entering back into the corporate world hasn’t been easy, I’m still trying to balance my life between commuting to work in NYC, then having time, and energy, when I come home to get a workout in, make and eat dinner, and prep everything to do it all over again the next day. And somehow in those 3 hours or so of rushing, I still haven’t figured out how to fit in gardening, blogging, errands and much-needed time to just relax and live my own life. All I think about is the next time I will be able to venture outdoors, and not to the busy streets, but the tranquility of Central Park, even if it’s only for a mere hour. I know I’ll get the hang of it soon, at least I have to, because I’ll admit I feel this city is sucking the life out of me a bit. As if I’m losing a part of who am I because I don’t do daily things that make me happy, one of the biggest things which is writing on my blog. New York City is a beautiful thriving city, with so many new and exciting things to take upon, but the “always on the go” lifestyle just isn’t for me, which is why I’ve been devoting my weekends to doing things I want to do on my own terms and make me happy, including spending carefree time with loved ones and feeding my creativity. My life has been pretty busy lately, but it hasn’t been anything short of bright and happy. I’m getting a better grip of this lifestyle, so I can’t wait to share some lovely inspiration with you soon. Hope you enjoy the weekend, as for me, I’ll be recharging and getting salty at the beach and just being me! {image above}

Truth, I quite often stop myself from sharing thin Truth, I quite often stop myself from sharing things as frequently because I think oh what for. Yes this image is pretty & it might inspire someone putting together ideas for their wedding or special occasion, but what is it really doing? When it feels like there is immense suffering, people are hurting, the chaos & injustice seems endless; the empath in me thinks what can my pretty thing possibly be doing to bring some worth to others -- but I have been reminded recently, then again this morning, that there will always be hurt & there will always be someone who needs something …
Because of that, our Happiness, no matter how fleeting, our Art, our Words, no matter how pointless they may feel, they are Valuable!

As humans we can always use encouragement, even in the smallest of ways; if that's a photograph or flowers I share, then I'll celebrate it. Because it's often the smallest detail someone else shares that brings me inspiration, encouragement or a joyful moment & I hope this is that for you today ✨🤍

They say it’s plan a vacation day & I’m always They say it’s plan a vacation day & I’m always ready to make travel plans, especially after this weird snowless gloom of a January. Travel really is the best gift we can give ourselves if we’re lucky enough to & it really is one of my biggest sources of inspiration.

Have you ever been somewhere whose design was more than just beautiful decor, but intentional details meant to inspire & evoke your every sense. The moment I was welcomed by the kind staff & entered my gorgeous room, I knew @areiasdoseixo was a special place. My September stay was a short one, but my amazing massage, the impeccable design & thoughtful details like the music that changed as the day flowed, delicious cookies I need to recreate & beautiful ocean views … it is a place I now cherish for the memories & inspiration that have left a mark on me. Next time I’m staying longer😉

Have you been somewhere whose design/concept immensely inspired you? Well go daydream, it’s the end of the month & you deserve this wanderlust moment✨
Thinking of Christie & Mario’s romantic wedding Thinking of Christie & Mario’s romantic wedding in Portugal, because I have travel on my mind & I'm feeling very inspired to explore, connect & make some magic happen in real beautiful places with creatives who inspire me🌿✨
