4th of July Inspiration

June 30, 2014 · 2 Comments

4th of July InspirationIt’s almost time to celebrate the biggest birthday in the country, good ole’ America! The 4th of July is the ultimate All-American summer holiday, where we gather to the beach or lake, and spend an entire weekend in the water swimming or boating, laying in the sun, grilling, and sharing carefree happy moments with loved ones. This year, unlike the last, where I held a big barbecue for friends and family, I’m having myself a mini getaway with friends to Atlantic City and Cape May. I plan to have fun, but mostly relax on the beach. If you’re hosting your own barbecue or having just a few friends over, here’s a bit of inspiration for this patriotic holiday. {image above via}4th of July InspirationHang different star medallions around a 1.gazebo or deck, with plenty of string lights, lanterns and candles. Frame an American flag for a 3.patriotic backdrop and 4.fill jars with sand, with firework streamer picks, and mini flags for all-American summer and nautical decor on a 2.picnic table. Instead of bandanas, try something new and make 5.tie-dye napkins.

1.Dresses are perfect for any 4th of July celebration, but for a more laid back look 2.denim shorts and a striped tied up button down work well. 3.Easy makeup and a loose fishtail will keep you cool. Dress up your fury friends with a 4.flag bow tie too.

Give guests 1.these flag slips to keep beers warm, and 2.colorful straws for extra special Mojitos made with 3.blackberries and plums. Serve up your summer grilling favorites on 4.American made products.

Flag cakes are simple statement desserts, but isn’t 1.this funfetti ombre cake so fun! Serve up mini berry 2.ice cream trifles {image via}, and an array of seasonal pies, or a frozen key lime tart. The best way to keep cool is with chilled seasonal 3.watermelon slices, and don’t forget the 4.S’mores. Have each guest customize their own toppings, like roasted berries, as they watch the fireworks.

Dreamery Headshot_2020

A Lover of Nature & Kindness, constantly smitten by the simple pleasures of life. Travel fills my soul with bliss & inspiration. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing. I love the outdoors & live for al fresco dinner parties, cozy candlelit romantic affairs with warm fires & blankets to share.

I dream about these things, it’s true. Yes, it’s all the small details in life that drive me & everything I do because we all deserve to celebrate every special moment in our lives…

I love how they make a statement in larger arrangements or more minimalist creations, but even more so, beautifully grouped together on their own in lovely vintage bud vases. Spring certainly has so many wonders & simple intricacies that bring us joy, even if for a brief season🌿

I’ve found the less I share on social media the more authenticity thrives. The ever-dream & idea filled mind grows & flourishes. It’s been comforting knowing that other creatives I’ve admired for years, both event related & not, have in part felt the same. When one creative outlet was paused, the other creative ideas that had been hibernating in the mind, quietly waiting for their time, began to shine brighter & brighter. Yes, it’s been comforting feeling that commonality in change & perspective...

But the one thing that’s never changed for me, is celebrating the beauty in the simple things. Giving a new home, a new form of life to a simple treasure. Those subtle everyday moments that are beyond inspiring...
