Chocolate Coffee Protein SmoothieI’ve been on a smoothie binge for the past month. They’re the quickest hearty breakfast I can make while hurrying out the door before a long commute to work, which is why I also need something that will get me through a good portion of the morning feeling satisfied. When eating and cooking a real meal is too much of a hassle, on hot sticky days, smoothies are the perfect refreshing treat. As a refreshing snack, I like to keep most of my smoothies or juices light, but when I’m constantly on the go I need one that is nutrient rich and sustains me like a meal. Chocolate Coffee Protein Smoothie

A well-balanced smoothie is a blend of not only fruits, but vegetables, protein and fat. There are so many combination possibilities, that I never make a smoothie the same way twice, except for maybe this one. Some days I want to detox, some I want to satisfy a craving, and other times I want to fuel my body post workout. This chocolate coffee concoction came to be because I needed a jolt of energy and something easily digestible before a mid-afternoon run. I added unsweetened cocoa powder for a healthy way to make this good for you drink more indulgent, plus I enjoy the bitterness, but chocolate protein powder or chocolate milk would be just as delicious. If you do plan to have this smoothie pre-workout, I suggest sipping it down 30 to 60 minutes before exercising. This smoothie not only makes for a great breakfast, but it’s a great way to enjoy your favorite iced coffee beverage in a much healthier way.

Chocolate Coffee Protein Smoothie

Ingredients {Serves 1}

1 cup {or 2 chilled espresso} – Cold Coffee
1 – Frozen Banana
1/4 cup – Greek Yogurt
1 scoop – Protein Powder
1 to 2 tablespoons – Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
Handful of spinach
Dash of cinnamon

Recipe

In this order, add the coffee, banana, protein, yogurt, cocoa, spinach, and cinnamon and blend until smooth. Pour over ice and serve. Alternatively, you can blend the ice in the blender, if you prefer a slushier smoothie.

I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
