Friday Favorites

July 11, 2014 · Leave a Comment

Friday Favorites A long 4th of July weekend spent on the beach with my love and two friends of ours is just what we all needed. It was great to reconnect friends from school that happened to all be in Atlantic City the same night, eat lots of delicious seafood and refreshing drinks along the marina, and simply relax all those daily worries. I guess I shouldn’t have said it too many times that I wish I was spending each summer day outside, because instead of coming back home with a tan, I came back with a severely hurt knee. I knew sooner of later my clumsiness would seriously get me in trouble, and this time a simple trip on a step turned into a lot more.

I can’t lie I’m very scared, this is my first surgery and needles are not my friend, but I’m also worried about the long and hard recovery I have ahead of me. But I’m determined and motivated to get my knee stronger than it was before, I’ve got too much fire in me and ideas I need to take on. There are many things that I was looking forward to do this summer that unfortunately I won’t be able to do now, but I’m not going to let an injury stop me from living and enjoy my life. I’m actually going to take this recovery and rest time to focus on other things I’ve wanted to accomplish that require less physical effort. I’ll be strong and I’m going to make the best of it. So I guess this weekend I’m going to take advantage of being able to walk with a trip to the farmers market and some time in the kitchen. Have a great weekend!Friday Favorites Looking back at snaps of my daily walks through Central Park, watching people relaxing, spending time with loved ones and whizzing past to get on with their busy lives. Central Park was my peaceful chaos, that I looked forward to each day. Friday Favorites Friday Favorites Friday Favorites Friday Favorites Friday Favorites Love seeing the large conch shells I found on these sandy shores adorning the deck. Friday Favorites Seriously obsessed with Elizabeth and James Nirvana, especially the delicate peony scent of White. Thanks for the samples Shoe Mint. Friday Favorites The sun making its way through grey skies, on the 4th of July.
Friday Favorites A great sign in The Chelsea that should be hung in every home.
Friday Favorites Sunsets on the beach are my favorite.Friday Favorites The kind of view I dream of waking up to each morning. Friday Favorites Even with a hobble I managed to prune my lush tomato vines, because I just love snacking on these juicy red grapes each day. Friday Favorites

And this is the lovely wrapping of my knee. This injury has made me so grateful that I have the ability to walk, and can say I won’t ever take advantage of it, because not having full mobility of your body is very challenging.

A Lover of Nature & Kindness, constantly smitten by the simple pleasures of life. Travel fills my soul with bliss & inspiration. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing. I love the outdoors & live for al fresco dinner parties, cozy candlelit romantic affairs with warm fires & blankets to share.

I dream about these things, it’s true. Yes, it’s all the small details in life that drive me & everything I do because we all deserve to celebrate every special moment in our lives…

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
