One Lovely Blog Award

August 12, 2014 · 8 Comments

one_lovely_blog_awardThe ever inspiring Inês, from Pretty Little Things, has generously nominated for the One Lovely Blog Award. Thank you so much for reading my blog, and enjoying, I’m happy you think I’m worthy of this award!

To accept this lovely award:

  1. Thank and link back to the amazing person who nominated you
  2. List the rules and display the award icon
  3. Share seven facts about yourself
  4. Nominate 15 other amazing bloggers. Comment on their posts to let them know they have been nominated
  5. Proudly display the award logo on your blog and follow the blogger who nominated you

Now, here’s a little bit more about myself…

1. I enjoy watching anything based in significant time periods of history, especially anything set in the 1920’s.

2. I can spend everyday making ice cream and pie. I get excited about creating new recipes, and can honestly eat both everyday, but I would much rather spend an entire day making a pie just to share with others.

3. I grew up on a farm during my summers in Portugal, and would one day love to own my own farm and bakery.

4. I’ll never say no to doing something or having a new experience. Especially if it includes traveling!

5. I’m obsessed with playing Just Dance, and am having a really hard time accepting the fact I can’t dance for another eight months because of my ACL surgery.

I now nominate these lovely blogs for this award {in no particular order}:

1. Life in a Bubble

2. Eat Drink Cook

3. Just Visit Siena

4. Twin Days

5. 2 Tickets to Wonderland

6. Hungry Cookie

7. Pretty Subjectivity

8. Just Juliette

Dreamery Headshot_2020

A Lover of Nature & Kindness, constantly smitten by the simple pleasures of life. Travel fills my soul with bliss & inspiration. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing. I love the outdoors & live for al fresco dinner parties, cozy candlelit romantic affairs with warm fires & blankets to share.

I dream about these things, it’s true. Yes, it’s all the small details in life that drive me & everything I do because we all deserve to celebrate every special moment in our lives…

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
