End of Summer Soirée Inspiration

August 18, 2014 · 1 Comment

End of Summer Soiree InspirationThe days are becoming brisker as Fall nears. Some are attempting to savor every last bit of summer by going on their getaways and vacations now before normal routine begins once again in September, while some have already said “adieu” to the carefree spirit of Summer. For most, it’s the days spent enjoying deep relaxation and laughs by having plenty of casual get-togethers with loved ones. It’s the last weeks to enjoy fresh meals made with the farmers market’s best, sip cocktails underneath the stars, and appreciate the last of what the season has to offer. I would have people over to grill and entertain everyday if I could, so I’ve compiled a few images that are inspiring me to throw and an End of Summer soirée…

{from top to bottom, left to right}

Rustic wood, cheerful sunflowers, and fragrant herbs are the perfect combination for an end of summer gathering

Have lounge seating at your wedding, or bring sofas outside for an outdoor movie night, to create comfy nautical corners that remind you of summer

Use the bountiful end of harvest fruits, like cherries, as decor, and peaches as place cards

Instead of serving appetizers that can go bad in the heat, serve up a new twist on fish with pickled mussels along with an array of different summer salads that can be prepped the day before

This farm to table inspiration shoot has just the perfect details for end of summer soirée

When days call for more effortless gatherings, a good cheese board is a necessity and so are lovely cheese knife sets. They would work great as favors for a wedding, as well

Sip on refreshing drinks with herbs

Setup an ice cream station with chilled marble slabs, or even better, rent an ice cream cart from your favorite creamery

Strung lights with bright greenery, are beautiful to look at starry summer nights

Dreamery Headshot_2020

A Lover of Nature & Kindness, constantly smitten by the simple pleasures of life. Travel fills my soul with bliss & inspiration. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing. I love the outdoors & live for al fresco dinner parties, cozy candlelit romantic affairs with warm fires & blankets to share.

I dream about these things, it’s true. Yes, it’s all the small details in life that drive me & everything I do because we all deserve to celebrate every special moment in our lives…

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
