I often envision designing my future dream home, and recreating every idea in mind. Although, I don’t own my own home yet, I was inspired by Chairish’s Color Couples post to transform my family’s living room. Our current dark brown furniture and modern shaped blue couches are the perfect foundation to infuse with these colorful ideas. Chairish is a great way to connect design lovers with each other in a practical and enjoyable way, where you can buy and sell amazing, unique, and quality home pieces, like their accent chairs. Personally, I love plenty of bright whites and neutrals, with hints of bold color in accents, but my parents prefer natural woods, traditional shapes and finishes, and so I thought of ways I could update this space for Fall using Chairish’s Color Couples and their Room with a Mood inspiration board, {click here to see} they so kindly shared with me.
Using my parents’ existing blue sofa and wood TV unit as the focal inspiration, I recreated a space that was traditional, modern and slightly retro with furniture in warm browns and colorful rich blue accent chairs, that resembled all my favorite pieces in family homes I’d visit during summers in Portugal. I’d say the space I created evoked a comforting and inviting mood; the kind of living space I’d want to spend quality family time in, perfect for gathering when the weather gets cooler.
Color can completely transform a room, and entire home. I was inspired by Chairish’s A Room with Mood {seen here}, and I hope that you find both our colorful ideas inspiring to your home. How will you be incorporating colorful combinations into your home decor this Fall?
