Football Season Entertaining

September 3, 2014 · 2 Comments

Football Season EntertainingAre you ready for some football? If you’re heading to a game this season, or usually get together with friends to catch your team on TV at home, why not make this year’s viewing season the best.

Make your home football experience special with a new weekly beer selection, and a food spread that will make your fall entertaining feel cozy, and emulate the experience of tailgating in the comfort of your own home. The key to entertaining while still being able to enjoy your football Sunday is, make-ahead dishes, mess free and multi-use serving ware and simple fall decor, like pumpkins and foliage. Even if you’re tailgating in a parking lot, you can kick up the decor with fan worthy colors, and versatile fabrics and props. Make your time before the game worth while by prepping and organizing all your dishes and drinks the day before.

These following football entertaining ideas work well not only for home viewing afternoons but tailgating at the stadium too! The official NFL season starts tomorrow. Who will you be rooting for?

Football Season EntertainingBoost the flavor of classic football dishes with these ideas: Fried Pickles, soft pretzel bites three ways and beer soaked oven fries. For healthier options try barbecue spice roasted chickpeas, kale chips, and baked parmesan zucchini

Football Season EntertainingSetup up all the necessities to make nachos and tacos; these shrimp ones are calling my name

Football Season EntertainingWhen the days become colder a chili or baked potato bar will be a perfect sunday afternoon treat. Serious game watchers will crave these smoky baby back ribs along with wings.

Football Season EntertainingGive guests these chillers at the first game to keep their beers chilled all season long. Setup a beer tasting or each week have a different person choose the main brew to feature that Sunday. It’s a great way to try something new, and what guy doesn’t enjoy beers and football. {left image via, right image via}

Football Season EntertainingCookies are always a hit, but football shaped sandwich cakes are festive, and pumpkin beer cupcakes will be sure to please all your guests {Make funfetti cookies with team colors}

Football Season EntertainingFor a mess free and easy cleanup table cover, lay craft paper designed to look like a football field, and use paper bags as containers for food. {images via}

Football Season EntertainingBring the outdoors indoors with fall decor, pumpkins, branches and foliage. Incorporate your team colors, whether with these diy napkins from old shirts or plaid blankets that work as table coverings or cover ups on chilly days {image via}. Have cheering props, like poms, megaphones, flags, and pennants, on hand so you can show your team spirit {top image via}

Football Season EntertainingPrep snacks in clear containers and grab-and-go bags. Serve individual wrapped sandwiches, or soups in up-cycled cans {image via}

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
