I’m Loving: Marsala Hues

January 9, 2015 · Leave a Comment

I'm Loving: Marsala HuesWere you as giddy as me when Pantone announced its color for 2015? I will admit I wasn’t expecting the rich deep color of Marsala, for this year. For some reason blue was all around, and I thought a soft blue hue would make its mark this new year. Whether you like rich colors or not, Marsala instantly made me feel a mood, it’s definitely an impactful color. It’s elegant, and is a statement when used on its own or as an accent with other colors. It’s seductive, like the full-bodied wine its name originates, and earthy from its warm red-brown undertones.

It seems like the perfect color choice for decor and fashion. While some are questioning how much of an impact it can make in the event styling world, I personally envisioned an intimate comfy dinner party, and an ultra feminine, yet sophisticated Valentine’s get-together with the gals when I first saw it. This color works well in almost any fabric, texture, and material, making it universally appealing and stylish. It’s dramatic, and at the same time subtle, which is why it’s also a great color for both men and women. For my first I’m Loving installment of 2015, I decided to feature my favorite Marsala color photos, hoping to inspire you and I into incorporating more of it our daily lives.

I personally love the color Marsala in fashion, especially during winter and upcoming fall. Not sure how much of it I’ll incorporate it during Spring/Summer, but if it means having this Scalloped Mini Skirt in Sugar Plum from Free People I’m all in. I'm Loving: Marsala Hues

Marsala inspired florals, may seem fitting of autumn, but it works beautiful when incorporated with neutral and blush or red tones for winter, or with whites, and bright pops of pink and greens for spring and summer months. Equally, I loved this centerpiece featured on Style Me Pretty because it doesn’t initially scream Pantone’s color, but the array of colors that reside within Marsala allow these florals to work for any occasion. I'm Loving: Marsala Hues

They say it’s plan a vacation day & I’m always They say it’s plan a vacation day & I’m always ready to make travel plans, especially after this weird snowless gloom of a January. Travel really is the best gift we can give ourselves if we’re lucky enough to & it really is one of my biggest sources of inspiration.

Have you ever been somewhere whose design was more than just beautiful decor, but intentional details meant to inspire & evoke your every sense. The moment I was welcomed by the kind staff & entered my gorgeous room, I knew @areiasdoseixo was a special place. My September stay was a short one, but my amazing massage, the impeccable design & thoughtful details like the music that changed as the day flowed, delicious cookies I need to recreate & beautiful ocean views … it is a place I now cherish for the memories & inspiration that have left a mark on me. Next time I’m staying longer😉

Have you been somewhere whose design/concept immensely inspired you? Well go daydream, it’s the end of the month & you deserve this wanderlust moment✨

Not one to be led by trends, but seems there’s a Not one to be led by trends, but seems there’s a little something we’re all looking forward to … Color! But there in lies the complex beauty of color. We connect & interpret it in so many personal ways — some of us are drawn to the beauty in the soft muted tones, while others it’s the bright rich hues. Each view & approach, a special way of embracing color✨🌿🌈And I am here for all it!
