Early Fall Florals

September 9, 2015 · 1 Comment

Early Fall Florals About two weeks ago I was asked to make a very last-minute floral arrangement. With no time to head to the flower market, I had to get creative with what my garden had to offer. Flowers have been scarce, left is mostly greens, foliage and a few purple dahlias, which were just beginning to bloom again. Since I couldn’t use the dahlias, I had some antique colored Hydrangeas that were blooming their way into my garden. Early Fall Florals I often pick these beauties, because I love their coloring so much. Green with red tips and shades of blue blended within its petals, it’s just a beautiful flower. It’s a favorite of mine and brides, I even used them for a Gatsby inspired garden bridal shower back in June. These Hydrangeas just so happened to be growing over another garden favorite of mine, the beautiful ‘palace purple’ Heuchara {or Coral Bells} with rich burgundy hued leaves, and delicate flowering stems that slightly resemble smoke bush. I nestled in a few delicate pale dusty miller leaves, and they couldn’t have complimented the antique Hydrangeas more perfectly. Early Fall Florals I put this floral arrangement together in five minutes, but I love it so much, finding it to be a one of my favorites that I’ve done. Placed in a mason jar it becomes rustic, but in a gold vase or pedestal container, it becomes an elegant fall arrangement.
Early Fall Florals What I really love about this little floral arrangement is that it looks different from every angle. It’s how I like my florals, unique with something new and pretty every way you look at it. The burgundy leaves and red hints in the hydrangea are definitely fall, while the soft greens, blue and grays bring out the lightness of summer. Whether it’s an early fall or late summer outdoor get-together, wedding, bridal shower or event, these florals create a beautiful color palette for the upcoming autumn season.   Early Fall Florals Early Fall Florals Early Fall Florals Early Fall Florals Early Fall Florals Early Fall Florals

A Lover of Nature & Kindness, constantly smitten by the simple pleasures of life. Travel fills my soul with bliss & inspiration. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing. I love the outdoors & live for al fresco dinner parties, cozy candlelit romantic affairs with warm fires & blankets to share.

I dream about these things, it’s true. Yes, it’s all the small details in life that drive me & everything I do because we all deserve to celebrate every special moment in our lives…

tiny joyous things🌿 ... I try not to lose sight tiny joyous things🌿 ... I try not to lose sight of the fact I get to create & "work" w. beautiful flowers; one of the things I love so much & one of the joyful parts of creating & sharing my work w. others. But this whole social media thing is weird right, the world is weird & broken right now -- as creatives seems like are new age question is "do I post this pretty picture when this is really happening right now?! but it's also kind of my job to put my work out there for others to see, right?!" ... but I’m learning, funny enough, by some inspiring women on this platform, it's ok to feel all these things while also sharing the joyous, cool & helpful things we are all working on, creating & hoping to bring into this world. Life is filled w. beautiful & sad moments, happiness, joy, grief, fear, doubt, love. All the tiny things🤍

& if anyone watched last night's This is Us, how beautiful was their telling of one's final moments, looking back at life. Ugh my heart😢

May is the start of a busy few months of events, so I’m going to make sure I prioritize Rest whenever I can. But also plenty of garden days, living & cherishing simple moments — because when the busy days will feel like a blur or the state of the world (big/small) only adds to the mental drain, I know these will be the things that keep me going🤍
