Friday Favorites

December 4, 2015 · Leave a Comment

Friday FavoritesLong gone is Thanksgiving, and instantly shined Christmas lights. I started my decorations outside earlier this year, but didn’t officially light everything and put up the tree up until the Friday after Thanksgiving, it just doesn’t seem right if it’s before. So now everything is about Christmas, and boy do I love my Christmas tree this year. Each year I change up how I place decorations around the house and the tree, and this year I decided I wanted to really stick to my love of white and gold, well as much as I could in my parents’ mostly dark wood and traditional home. This is kind of the time they allow me to just decorate however I’d like and thank goodness, because there’s nothing getting between me and my love for Christmas. You feel me, no really there’s a word for us, Holiday Overachievers {read this and you will totally picture yourself or someone you know ha}.

But I don’t know what it is, I’ve moved my office to a make shift one in the living room just so I could work alongside the beautiful lit tree. Yes, I’m just a little girl at heart who loves Christmas and this magical season of giving. This weekend, I’ve finally convinced my parents to donate some “pointless” items they’ve been hoarding, including my childhood bike. Then it’s my first holiday party of the season, before a hopefully relaxing Sunday watching but of course holiday movies and wrapping presents. Hope you are enjoying this holiday season, and let’s not forget what this time is really about. Happy Weekend!Friday FavoritesSoft sunset skies. Friday FavoritesI don’t often take fondant cakes, but this pretty pink fondant flowers was simple and cute not to take on. Friday FavoritesIt’s December in New Jersey, and the roses are still so beautiful. I know the warnings for an even brutal winter are there come January, but this warm-weather girl is loving these above average temperatures. Friday FavoritesPossibly the nicest package I’ve gotten, and best splurge on myself. I can’t wait to use my Simplified Planned by Emily Ley. Friday FavoritesThere was plenty of pie this Thanksgiving. Friday FavoritesI’m quite obsessed with these crystal ornaments my mother was generously gifted. Friday FavoritesYou can’t beat Christmas crafting alongside a lit tree. Friday FavoritesSeriously I could live in an Anthropolgie kitchen, I mean this rolling pin and muffin tin aren’t necessary but they’re just too pretty. Hey, Santa are you listening, this whole collection sure looks like a very nice gift!

A Lover of Nature & Kindness, constantly smitten by the simple pleasures of life. Travel fills my soul with bliss & inspiration. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing. I love the outdoors & live for al fresco dinner parties, cozy candlelit romantic affairs with warm fires & blankets to share.

I dream about these things, it’s true. Yes, it’s all the small details in life that drive me & everything I do because we all deserve to celebrate every special moment in our lives…

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
