Christmas Details

December 9, 2015 · 3 Comments

Christmas DetailsI’ve been secretly listening to holiday music and watching Christmas movies since mid-November, but now that it’s “socially acceptable” I’ve been enjoying our Christmas decor to the fullest. There is just something so magical about a home decked in garland, twinkling trees and gilded ornaments. For me, beyond being beautiful, it’s incredibly comforting to work and then relax alongside a lit Christmas tree. For the last few years I’ve decorated my home a bit more traditional than my personal taste, but it fits with the look of my parent’s home, because if it was mine, you’d be seeing a whole lot of white and gold. Usually I’ll add in a few burgundy and deep red touches, but aside from our stockings, I chose this year’s Christmas to showcase the pretty metallic shades of the season.

A table scape with plenty of candles in varying gold shades, white ornaments in clear vases, these diy silver trees and of course fresh pine. But it’s the tree that is my favorite this year, I think it’s those gorgeous crystal ornaments. I sometimes just walk by and stare at it, in a way it helps me take a quick break and get me back to my day efficiently. I really do love this time of year, it sure is beautiful. Here are a few of my Christmas details. Hope you are enjoying your beautifully decorated home. Christmas Details

Beautiful! The gold and silver touches are actually reminding me of my parents’ old house… ah, nostalgia and Christmas seem to go hand-in-hand

Dreamery Headshot_2020

A Lover of Nature & Kindness, constantly smitten by the simple pleasures of life. Travel fills my soul with bliss & inspiration. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing. I love the outdoors & live for al fresco dinner parties, cozy candlelit romantic affairs with warm fires & blankets to share.

I dream about these things, it’s true. Yes, it’s all the small details in life that drive me & everything I do because we all deserve to celebrate every special moment in our lives…

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
