Favorites from 2015

December 28, 2015 · Leave a Comment

Traveling to...Sitio2015 was one creative year! Along with lots of dessert orders, The Dreamery has started to grow bigger on the event styling and planning side, and I couldn’t be more happy about the parties I styled this year, and excited for all the projects coming up next year! This past year I created and shared several wedding and event planning resources, like a bridal shower checklist that came in handy for those involved with planning my cousin’s wedding, and the meanings of each wedding anniversary for all the newly married couples in my life. There were pretty Valentine’s Day florals, beautiful garden tulips and roses, and a DIY Gatsby inspired Bridal Shower that was my favorite!

And there was plenty of how to’s! It was one of my goals this past year to bring new life to old things, I definitely accomplished that and am looking forward to crafting many more projects. My travels didn’t take me to several countries this year, but it brought me back to Portugal, to family I miss dearly and rediscovering culture and traditions. My garden was more bountiful and larger this year with endless delicious vegetables, and the flowers were just so beautiful, with bright colored roses still blooming! There was plenty of inspiration on the blog, and there will be plenty more to come.

How about you, have you taken some time to reflect on all you’ve done this year, and thought about was you’d like to do next year? Here are some of your favorite 2015 posts and a few of my favorite accomplishments..

Dreamery Headshot_2020

A Lover of Nature & Kindness, constantly smitten by the simple pleasures of life. Travel fills my soul with bliss & inspiration. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing. I love the outdoors & live for al fresco dinner parties, cozy candlelit romantic affairs with warm fires & blankets to share.

I dream about these things, it’s true. Yes, it’s all the small details in life that drive me & everything I do because we all deserve to celebrate every special moment in our lives…

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
