I’m Loving…

February 19, 2016 · 2 Comments

I'm Loving...I’m totally in “get sh**” done mode. I leave for Jamaica at the end of next week, so I’ve definitely been busy working on completing some design projects that need to be done before heading off to paradise, along with making sure everything is pretty much in place for parties being styled less than a month after my return, along with a few other projects. Oh yea, not to mention the last minute tasks that always seem to pop up before heading on vacation. I definitely can’t wait for the weekend, but it definitely will be one mixed in with work. But the good thing is I don’t mind the work, it’s fun to me, as work should be. I do plan on a nice long run and big batch of soup on Sunday, and of course relaxing with J. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

If you’ve ever been lucky to travel to Portugal, or other European countries, then you understand my love and appreciate for its historic architecture. Portuguese photographer Andre Vicente Goncalves was so enamored by beautiful windows, we crated this amazing series of European windows. {top image via Andre Vicente Goncalves}

I'm Loving...This lovely affair has easily become one of my all time favorites, I mean an elaborate and lush flower bar, and it’s a baby shower! If you’re still needing inspirition for a bridal or baby shower you have to see all the prettiness this party has to offer. {via Style Me Pretty}

I'm Loving...I just loved this wedding and how it was inspired by the couple’s favorite Coldplay song, and mine as well. {via Green Wedding Shoes}

I'm Loving...Goodness I love this dress, I could see myself wearing it everyday. Spring, are you near? {via Free People}

I'm Loving...The easiest way to organize your linen closet while making it look pretty too! {via Julie Blanner}

I'm Loving...The prettiest pink porcelain dinnerware. {via Food52}

I'm Loving...The gals at A Beautiful Mess are DIY geniuses, thanks for teaching me about metal plating. Definitely keeping this money saver home decor tip for the future. {via A Beautiful Mess}

I'm Loving...There’s not much I’m actually craving once this cleanse is over, and I’m back from vacation, but brownies, yes double chocolate brownies are definitely topping the list! {recipe via Rose and Ivy Journal}

Leave it to Jess Glyne and another empowering song. I’m loving this jam on my runs, and when I just feel like busting out in my mid-afternoon dance sessions.

    I’m totally in that same mood… I don’t have school this week, but I woke up at 5:45 naturally, and immediately started working. My brain doesn’t grasp that I’m on vacation!

    I’ve never heard that song, but I LOVE IT!!! Thanks for sharing, I love finding new music!!

We connect & interpret it in so many personal ways — some of us are drawn to the beauty in the soft muted tones, while others it’s the bright rich hues. Each view & approach, a special way of embracing color✨🌿🌈And I am here for all it!

“Ikebana; the Japanese art of flower arranging t “Ikebana; the Japanese art of flower arranging that emphasizes form & balance — symbolizing the beauty & essence of all components in Nature working in harmony. Ikebana expresses strong emotions through its four principles of a fresh approach, movement, balance & harmony, while highlighting its three elements; line, color & mass.

Ikebana designs use fewer stems that are intentionally arranged to reflect the balance of opposing elements. Ikebana floral art is a reflection of the person creating it & its evolving story.”

This year I’m challenging myself each month to create a design. Whether it be a centerpiece or tablescape, I want to expand & challenge my creativity, skills & ever-flowing ideas. It’s a perfect way for me to create for the sake of creating while inspiring you with joyful pieces & help others see unlikely designs with a new perspective.

I was naturally drawn to the traditional artform of Ikebana, for it takes the simplest elements & transforms them into designs that evoke an immense emotion. For me there is so much power & beauty in that, but also why I think it’s not as understood or appreciated as elaborate floral designs.

I stumbled upon this forgotten small blue & white dish, thought how perfect it would be to capture the story of “Winter Blues” — not the sadness of the bitter season, but the emotion of a fresh clean slate where Nature is bare, minimal & calm, yet open to all the possibilities of the unknown … using a few sprigs of Blue Thistle & the inspiration of Ikebana intentions, this tiny delight was made💙

Dreamery is a bespoke event and floral design brand focusing on gatherings of all sizes, stylings, home, decor and the limitless creative projects yet to be envisioned. Nature, travel, old world treasures & slow living are my constant inspiration.
