I’m Loving…Birthday Edition

June 2, 2016 · Leave a Comment

I'm Loving...Birthday EditionWe’ve made it to June already, I know, how did that happen?! When my favorite month of June arrives, it means the year is halfway complete, and it also means it’s my birthday. Now, it’s not my favorite month because of my birthday, on the total contrary, I’m not one for big birthday festivities for myself, instead my favorite way to spend it is by traveling instead. But June, oh it’s just the best…there’s no escaping the good weather and sunshine, lush trees and beautiful flowers of every color in the rainbow, the endless activities to do outdoors, and that carefree feeling. The exciting arrises as those dog days of summer arrive in just a few weeks. I just love this time of year, and I love that my birthday occurs during it. But, this year I’m having a love hate relationship with my upcoming birthday. Ay, it’s totaling hitting me I’m getting older!

Since, I’m celebrating my actual birthday in two weeks by going to Firefly, this weekend I plan on laying low. An overnight trip to the beach today, afternoon and dinner, maybe even a night out at Pier 13 with friends, and for the big 27th birthday, a simple barbecue and some ice cream at home. But because it is my birthday, I’m dedicating this edition of I’m Loving to all the things I want to have during my birthday weekend and what I want this new year of my life to look like…

Dreamery Headshot_2020

A Lover of Nature & Kindness, constantly smitten by the simple pleasures of life. Travel fills my soul with bliss & inspiration. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing. I love the outdoors & live for al fresco dinner parties, cozy candlelit romantic affairs with warm fires & blankets to share.

I dream about these things, it’s true. Yes, it’s all the small details in life that drive me & everything I do because we all deserve to celebrate every special moment in our lives…

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
