I’m having a thing with picnics lately. Perhaps it’s because International Picnic Day is Sunday, or that the weather has been so lovely it must be enjoyed by sitting outside on a blanket. Carefree days eating an ice cream cone beneath a tree, there is so much to love when it comes to the sweet simplicity of summer, and that’s why this season is the most popular for weddings. Of course the biggest reason is that you can have the day of your dreams celebrated outside…saying I do amongst a clear blue ocean sky or and al fresco dinner that turn into a dance party below star filled skies. Yes, it’s no surprise I love an outdoor wedding, when my day comes, you know it’ll be spent amongst the beauty that is nature. Which is why I think picnic weddings are just the best, especially if you’re an outdoorsy couple or maybe a picnic was your first date. From a more casual and relaxed day lounging and sipping champagne, to playing festive outdoor games and an endless night making s’mores, the idea of a picnic wedding just seems absolutely lovely! I’ve gathered up some of my favorite ideas to inspire you to have a fun outdoor affair of your own…
When it comes to a picnic wedding, all rules are out the window. Make sure guests are aware they can expect to lounge and relax on your wedding day. Oh, did I mention having a wedding at a local park might save you hundreds. Some parks allow you to hold a party without any fee.
