Inspiring Words : Life is Fleeting

January 9, 2017 · 1 Comment

Inspiring Words : Life is Fleeting | Dreamery EventsI was all ready to kick off the week with the inspirational quote that has become on of my mantras for the year, to motivate my fellow ladies but then over the weekend I received some very shocking and sad news. A Sunday that started off calm, and productive finishing up my task of decluttering the attic, quickly turned to sadness. My neighbor, a hard working dad to a young boy, husband, son and such a wonderful person, so unexpectedly passed away, and all I could feel was disbelief. In an instant, a million questions filled my mind, “Why? How?” but then it turned quickly to his family, how he still had to so much life to live, so much to experience with his son and family, and I just couldn’t imagine what this dear family is going through, and my own family couldn’t help but feel exceptionally disturbed by this heartbreaking new.

Throughout the rest of the day, I couldn’t shake the feeling that life is oh so fleeting. And so precious, yet delicate, fragile and totally unexpected. I guess a part of me is still resentful for never getting the chance to give my proper goodbyes to my two dear aunts I lost within one week of each other in Portugal a few years ago, that I took the sudden passing of my neighbor extremely to heart. Of course worry set in. Lately you hear such tragic and sad stories, I couldn’t help but feel anxious, thinking of my loved ones here and family in Portugal, but then I remembered that this is the very reason none of us should be consumed with regret, or hate towards doing things we don’t want to or being someone were not. Each day of ours is too precious to not spend it on that that makes us smile.

So today, tell each person you care about how much you love them, and remember Dr. Seuss’s words…

Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forgive the ones who don’t and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it’d be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.  – Dr. Seuss

A Lover of Nature & Kindness, constantly smitten by the simple pleasures of life. Travel fills my soul with bliss & inspiration. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing. I love the outdoors & live for al fresco dinner parties, cozy candlelit romantic affairs with warm fires & blankets to share.

I dream about these things, it’s true. Yes, it’s all the small details in life that drive me & everything I do because we all deserve to celebrate every special moment in our lives…

tiny joyous things🌿 ... I try not to lose sight tiny joyous things🌿 ... I try not to lose sight of the fact I get to create & "work" w. beautiful flowers; one of the things I love so much & one of the joyful parts of creating & sharing my work w. others. But this whole social media thing is weird right, the world is weird & broken right now -- as creatives seems like are new age question is "do I post this pretty picture when this is really happening right now?! but it's also kind of my job to put my work out there for others to see, right?!" ... but I’m learning, funny enough, by some inspiring women on this platform, it's ok to feel all these things while also sharing the joyous, cool & helpful things we are all working on, creating & hoping to bring into this world. Life is filled w. beautiful & sad moments, happiness, joy, grief, fear, doubt, love. All the tiny things🤍

& if anyone watched last night's This is Us, how beautiful was their telling of one's final moments, looking back at life. Ugh my heart😢

Event season is in full swing & it’s nice to finally step aside from planning to bring all the ideas, time & details to life!

May is the start of a busy few months of events, so I’m going to make sure I prioritize Rest whenever I can. But also plenty of garden days, living & cherishing simple moments — because when the busy days will feel like a blur or the state of the world (big/small) only adds to the mental drain, I know these will be the things that keep me going🤍
