A few months ago, nine to be exact, one of my dear clients and awesome momma blogger shared to me should be having her third darling baby. To share the news with her family, she wanted to make an announcement that was sweet and simple. She spotted these pretties as inspiration and naturally of course I said I can make our own DIY version. Now the Alves’ family impatiently awaits the arrival of their newest little lady this week, and the timing was perfect to share this adorable, and super easy, “Peas in a Pod” pregnancy announcement. For any expecting parents, this is a little something sweet soon-to-be grandparents will cherish forever!
You’ll Need
- 2″ Kraft Boxes {I bought these here}
- Green Jewelry Beads {found at any craft/jewelry store – these were bought at Michael’s}
- Dark Green Felt {found at any craft store – these were bought at Michael’s}
- Hot Glue Gun
- Letter Stamps + Ink
- Crinkle Paper
- Scissors
- Thin Ribbon, to tie around boxes
Using one of the boxes, cut the sides so you have a flat square. Stamp the words “in our….crazy little pod” leaving a space in the center for your “peas.” Before folding up your box, stamp the inside of opening flap with “soon to be 3 peas”.
Using a leaf shape or freehand, cut out the green felt into a leaf shape at least 1 1/2″ X 1″. Place a bit of hot glue in the center of the felt leaf and place the three green beads atop.
Place a tiny bit of glue onto the edge tips and along the bottom edges of the beads, then gently pinch the ends and fold up the green felt to create the shape of “peas in a pod.”
Glue the pea pod onto the center of the square.
Fill the boxes with a bit of crinkle paper and place the square with the pea pod atop. Close your box and finish each by tying with a pretty ribbon.
And that’s it! How adorable are these?!
Congratulations to all of 2018’s parents-to-be!!
