Amber is the Color of your Energy … a Cottagecore Inspired Valentine’s Tablescape

Amber is the Color of your Energy ... a Cottagecore Gathering for Love & Flowers

Amber is the color of your energy
…shades of gold display naturally
You want to know what brings me here
You glide through my head, blind to fear
And I know .. Amber is the color of your energy
…shades of gold display naturally…

I dare say it right from the start, but I highly suggest you watch the video for this table styling before seeing the photographs first. The music and melody is what inspired it all, and you certainly get a better view of all the smaller details, that can often be hard to capture in a still photograph. Yes, a blend of two very different music genres to create a feeling, very reminiscent of, perhaps you’ve already guessed it…cottagecore, recency-core — whatever it is they are calling it these days when you burn for Bridgerton … like everyone naturally. Well, “Amber” by 311 is one of my favorite songs, in truth I’ve always found it to be such a great love song, and everything about its essence and melody were the inspiration for this decor and styling. There are endless beautiful details below that I’m sure will fill you with love…..

You couldn’t have a table and decor styling inspired by the romantic regal charm Bridgerton exudes and the Recency feel from the era, without Candlelight!! Everything was lit by candles during the era, all those candles, although not the work of lighting and turning them all off, certainly lit everything up so softly, that it created a natural magical romantic ambience to these ornately decorated homes and balls. Well, at least I feel that most of us feel it’s the candles, the candles are certainly what make everything about the look from this time in history just so romantic feeling.

But the candles here were warmed up in a modern way by mixing different finishes and textures some in golden hues, adding an extra bit of that amber glow….

Well, as I was organizing items from a wedding I styled last weekend, I quickly noticed how big, and continuously growing, my collection of amber glasses and vintage vessels was. Of course I was loving it, but mostly when I saw them all together like so, my mind went directly to that song, and then to “oh wait, this, these pieces, these leftover flowers, this song…it can all work perfectly with a few dainty details from yesteryears to create a beautiful display used to celebrate a gathering of love {those who celebrate Valentines wink wink ;).. or to simply display a simple love of flowers.

Although anyone getting married in the month of February, most widely known for being all things love…I say going with this romantic table inspiration fit with heirloom laces, rich amber glasses in varying hues, in all vintage forms, sweet spray roses and greens from whimsical Queen Anne’s Lace, to Eucalyptus, Italian Ruscus, and stunner terra-cotta hued Roses and soft Quicksand blooms — well you would be making a decision that would leave you feeling exceptional…..

When I’m leaning towards a monochromatic tone for a table, I love incorporating many different items in that color palette and not particularly use them for what they’ve been intended too…

take these amber and dark smoke colored glasses, yes they are for drinking — but i love using them as vessels for smaller florals and centerpieces

but also for whimsical candle holders. If its textured glass, even better! The candlelight flickers off the glass’s design to reflect onto your surfaces. It’s quite dreamy…..

And sometimes, items can stand on their own, like vintage amber glass shot glasses or a small jar and tiny bottle…..

When you listen to the blend of “Amber’s” laidback California reggae rock folk feel, mixed with the properness of the classic string quartet instruments — you’re hit with a beautiful feeling of a laidback regal-ness …is that a thing?

Well, I wanted things to feel very much ripped from an old English countryside book, fit with floral portraits, early spring blooms picked and placed in whatever bottles were empty at the time. Tables decorated with the everyday handmade crochet lace doilies, and always candles. There must always be flowers, and candles…and all, showcased just in a bit more of a boho way.

But I wanted it all to still have that west coast laidback carefree feel; flowers arranged wildly with greens to resemble early spring wildflower fields, those dainty linens simply bunched and draped atop the table and not placed down flat all prim and proper, woodsy musk incense burning alongside, and empty aged frames because other than an oil painting of a rose, I didn’t find any piece of art I felt fit with the look. But you know what…i love the look of the empty frames so much better!

I left the lace hoops I already had displayed to continue the blend of vintage and modern minimalism. They lended perfectly as one of the lace fabrics in the hanging hoops was the same as a piece on the table, it’s certainly a design I really love.

Amber is the Color of your Energy ... a Cottagecore Gathering for Love & Flowers || Dreamery Events I always love to finish off my styling designs with small details. Whether a spring of fresh greenery, a candle in a unique vessel, or wooden spools of ribbon, particularly when their color fits so perfectly to the color palette of your styling. Both the warm golden hue, and soft velvet texture lend just the right final touch to bring it all together…

I really loved putting this table styling together, aesthetically why wouldn’t I? I love a table and decor inspired by a lovely english cottage from yesteryear mixed in with some boho tunes. But this styling truly incorporated my love of music, flowers and all things historical design.

They say its often funny how creatives find their inspiration for a certain project, and for me it was music. I did try to layer “Amber” with the Bridgeton version of “Thank U Next” by Vitamin String Quartet, which is pretty good, and “Feeling Exceptional” from Bridgeton, which I also loved but I, being not particularly tech savvy couldn’t blend the two songs together well. But then I found this classical version by Midnight String Quartet, which in turned out to be exactly the vibe I was envisioning.

Just listen to this lovely song, think of being at a table with all these pretty flowers, surrounding by your favorite ladies, sipping a yummy cocktail and chatting over sweets. It all sounds quite lovely, quite lovely indeed.

I think this table styling, inspired by all things love and romance, would be darling for Valentine’s, or just gorgeous celebrating the welcoming of Spring, or if you’re really thinking ahead, of course simply beautiful during Autumn with the rich comforting amber glow…..

I’m not really too sure what color my energy is, but right now it’s filled with amber and vibes of Love for you all…..

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
Finding it a bit hard to stay positive today…in Finding it a bit hard to stay positive today…in truth the state of our planet weighs heavily on me daily, but especially these last few days knowing that millions of people are struggling to have the basic necessities of staying warm & having running water in their own home. It’s baffling. But this is the sad reality that we have created as humans. Decades of corporations, governments & leaders choosing profits over the value & quality of human life & of every living organism necessary to make our ecosystems thrive.

No, not the happiest of posts, but it’s honesty. We have created the rise in repeated natural disasters, pandemics & rare diseases. And until we hold these people accountable & collectively make drastic changes, then we will continue to have these in more severe cases — so yes, more diseases, more crazy things happening to our environment & the places we love. We have created this change & it’s severely impacted every facet of our lives & future.

My heart is w. everyone struggling right now, because this shouldn’t be happening. Please stay safe, check on your neighbors & loved ones. Help however way you can🤍
