From a Honeybee Birthday, to a Boho English Garden Shower & late Spring Rose Gold inspired Wedding….
It’s no secret I love any, and all, al fresco gatherings and at home gatherings, even a joyous morning coffee!! Naturally doing all things and entertaining outside in the open air is part of my soul. To me, it’s the best way to celebrate any of life’s meaningful occasions.
I’ve done and hosted many celebrations outside; including different setups, yard layouts, weather accommodations, to name a few — and have learned different ways to decorate and style for all this and all ages and gender.
With restrictions lifting and more people becoming fully vaccinated, many are ready to have parties once again, at restaurants and venues, but I also see that people loved having gatherings at their homes last year so much — they want to have even more this year! Sign me up!
Since I’ve done a few different types of parties at home, including several outdoors both for personal and many client parties, and so I wanted to round them up and with you below. The latest are such adorable themes for little kid’s birthdays, I certainly wish we could’ve done these on a bigger scale, but they still looked soo cute. There are so many different ideas below to help inspire a new season of at home causal and effortless entertaining, whether outdoor or not. But hopefully it is in the lovely space of Mother Nature…..
There is something simply special about inviting loving people into your safe space. You can make changes to your home and outdoor spaces, to create a beautiful occasion to celebrate whether a birthday, shower or wedding. Even someone’s else’s garden or outdoor space that feels like home, are great places to have any gathering … and is a lovely way to use the beauty of the Nature to your benefit and enjoy it so by doing nothing but being there {as long as your staying eco-friendly and clean ;)}
I could go on and on and on about the benefits and beauty of Nature and the dire need to protect and help it, but I’ll save that for another time.
I’m all for having your celebrations, as long as you continue to practice safe habits and items at your parties. Here’s to getting safely together with our loved ones, celebrating, getting out into the world, see our favorite places, watching sights and experiences bloom…..
Adelaide’s Strawberry Patch 3rd Birthday
I’ve been doing these lovely pair of sisters’ birthdays since they were one. This year’s birthdays were much smaller, and also happened to be my favorite themes, Sweet Honey Bee and a Strawberry Patch birthday bash! Don’t they sound adorable!
Well, together with their wonderful momma Paula, we put all our ideas together. For the centerpieces, I wanted to create arrangements that had that garden flower feel that would be quite natural to a bee’s home or near a strawberry patch. With some Jumbo Balloons, pretty linens, nicer place settings, chairs and lovely desserts from Jamm Events, plus a few little details and signs here and there … we pulled together all the details, to create pretty recreations of each themes in a smaller more cozy and quaint {and safe} atmosphere, which sometimes is quite nice — whether being safe or keeping things small in the winter
With Adelaide’s Strawberry Patch flower centerpiece I immediately thought freshly picked garden blooms in vintage tea tins. I love using Harry & Son’s tea tins, they have such a variety that would work with so many colors palettes! And flowers and tea make a great Mother’s Day or I Love You gift 😉

Delia’s Sweet Honey Bee 5th Birthday
Bee anything has always been a favorite of mine, and special to me, whether delicately imprinted on a linen napkin or piece of stationery, a lovely theme to a baby’s nursery or birthday. So of course I was so happy to finally help bring to life one of my favorite, and very important creatures, with Delia’s dreamy and magically pretty Sweet Honey Bee Birthday. I will be honest with you and let you know that whenever I worked on details for this celebration, the song “All I Want is You” by Barry Louise Parker would always play in my head, so I’d hummed it along and it’d make me so happy. The little sweet things, just like the darling honeybees…
There are so many pretty and simple details that I think you will just fall in love with love! And there all things you can easily do to recreate this look. The statement wood honeycomb display that was used to showcase honeycomb topped yummy cupcakes and dainty daisies, was built by the girls’ dad. You can easily DIY it or even find similar pieces online to use!
Jumbo Balloons in pastels colors always make a child’s birthday more fun, especially when finished off with a pretty green “floral” tail.
Like the super cute honeycomb bee melamine plate and drink set that girls used, Paula found these pieces online and she knows that the girls will love using it come Spring time or whenever they have their snacks outside on the grass together.
And the desserts really have a bit impact on how you portray your theme, whether more subdued or it be the main focal points. Melanie really made sweet and dainty BEE springtime magic come to life. What a pretty
Add in a few theme-y touches your may have in your home already or from other holidays, or scour your home decor/craft stores like Michaels, Home Goods, Marshalls for small treasures that could work with your theme and you could reuse in your home, your child’s playroom or wherever!
With a few easy and nicer touches, like the swap of plates, can completely transform an everyday space, like a living room…even for others who frequent your spaces. It’ll be like a nice meal and party at a venue that has all the comforts and luxuries of being home, well because it is 😉
