Grab your barnyard pals and let’s go to the farm for a fall harvest birthday celebration! Fall is nearing and with it all the cozy things we love. This birthday styling was inspired by beloved seasonal activities, like picking apples, pumpkins, then eating all the best spiced treats. Mateo’s first birthday was celebrated in the middle of October, and thankfully the weather allowed us to setup in his own backyard. Transforming it into his own barn, we showcased all things rustic and red gingham. Red “barn doors” were designed alongside cornstalks and hay bales, watering cans, as well as balloons in varying colors, like dusty blues and cow print.
Lady Lia created the most adorable cake which we styled alongside a diverse spread of autumn sweets. There was a tower of homemade candy apples, farm fresh apple cider donuts, jars of candy corn, plus kettle corn and caramel maple flavored popcorn! We found the cutest mini wagons which displayed brown bags the kids used to fill with sweets. Baskets lined with bandanas, wooden crates and buckets were also styled alongside white displays for a simple modern touch.
Tables were kept minimal, with bold red gingham linens and white bud vases with wheat bundles. Mateo’s highchair was adorned with a darling banner that was handmade with love by grandma.
How could we have a fun fall harvest birthday at the farm without hay bales! Larger bales lined up to make a long table, and smaller ones created the benches where Mateo and his friends sat to enjoy their activities. Venturing to the pumpkin patch, they picked their own to paint. They also played pin-the-tail on the cow, and each went home with a stuffed farm friend.
It would be great to have this birthday party at a local farm, but when that doesn’t work — you can use these simple ideas to create your own barnyard at home! Hope you enjoy this fall harvest birthday styling inspiration…..
