An explosion of sunshine…in Daffodil form!
I never needed it to be a trending color to have always loved yellow. And when daffodils are in full bloom, one knows Spring’s bounty if finally here. Daffodils have often been overlooked as a simple flower, but its endless varieties makes this bloom just as special as any other. In fact, I too would graze past it, until in lush clusters, the Double Daffodil began taking over the garden. Double bloomed daffodils are ones that instead of a single cone-like center, develop multiple frilly petals.
As they exploded alongside the garden paths, I wanted to design a centerpiece that showcased their grandiose color, resembling the vibrance of a sun-filled day. This piece is an illusion in itself. Having one’s gaze linger from top to bottom, the daffodils appear as if climbing atop one another. It’s as if the daffodils continue to bloom and expand from themselves. But it’s no trick, simply a clever use of clear glasses, and many bud vases in different heights that surrounded and were placed atop a cake stand. Each intentionally filled and arranged to HIDE each vessel, thus appearing like floating and growing upwards.
Lemons also helped to cover any open spaces the flowers could not, and playfully heightened its element of design. A stylized touch embracing a love for mixing flowers and fruits, and one that can be effortlessly done by all.

…a design that bids farewell to daffodil season, and the anticipation of its bright return once more next year…
