Floral Inspiration :: Spring Greens and Whites

July 15, 2026 · Leave a Comment

A green and white floral palette truly is timeless. Whether it’s the inspiration for a wedding design, in the corner of a garden, the foundation of a home’s aesthetic — a combination of greens and whites are fresh and welcoming to all styles. With an abundance of leftover flowers from a season of reoccurring events, I had all the beautiful blooms to create an array of centerpieces rooted in this grounding color scheme. While similar stems can be seen within each different piece, each one shines in green and white hues. In their own way transforming into arrangements inspired by gardens from the wild romantic to contemporary fullness.

I hope you find much inspiration in how even the most classic of colors are be reinterpreted and reimagined in infinite ways, especially when it comes to floral design…

I‘ll always save the offshoots and little sprigs from a stem because I just love them so. I try to make use of them within my designs, and when they don’t work with a specific event — I’ll make sure to create something with them afterwards. What joy to have an abundance of sweet little things to fill spaces; not only within centerpieces but also nestled in small vessels placed in every corner of a home or workspace. Sure, flowers are not meant to last forever, but if given the chance, they can have a second or third life to shine.

From this event I had so many leftover offshoots from Queen Anne’s Lace and Larkspur which are some of my favorite. They are whimsical, dainty and still full of texture as much as their main counterparts. I knew when all arranged together in an organic and lush way, they would look beautiful atop a dining table.

Here we are not fixated on a particular shape, or properly creating the most picture-perfect floral lines. The Intention…take advantage of the abundance of small stems to create volume, height and fullness. Overgrown like a patch of green and white florally bits in the corner of a garden…

I’ll always love greens and soft pinks, especially when with hints of yellow. While this arrangement may not be one featuring solely greens and white, it’s a lovely way to showcase this color palette in a refreshing way by adding pops of complimentary hues. Like the yellows within the center of cosmos or the soft yet punchy pinks within hydrangeas, that magically feature mother’s nature blended palette of colors, all within a single stem.

With a bounty of white, green, multi-color and green-pink antique hydrangea I wanted to create a voluminous floral arrangement. The statement-making kind of piece that commands the very presence of the room its in. But instead of creating a more rounded shape that veers too classic, this hydrangea-forward design takes a more contemporary feel by embracing height and movement with pockets of negative space. The different colors are also intentionally placed. While it may seem at random — the focal is the green, while the shape and where one’s eyes, are meant to move are done so with the other colors.

This floral centerpiece would look just as pretty with a mono-bloom, but there is an added whimsy and textural intrigue by adding Cosmos and sprigs of chocolate Queen Anne’s Lace that pick up on the pink hues.

The Larkspur and Queen Anne’s Lace, still looking as fresh as if on the day they were picked. I couldn’t help seeing them arranged as if a romantic overgrown garden. Here we’re embracing the vertical lines of these two flowers and their fully bloomed white petals, allowing them to take centerstage. Viburnum and kiwi vines fill the in-betweens with their bold green hues, adding dimension to the overall softness of this design.

Only four different types of flowers were used, and yet we put the best of each stems’s beauty at the focus to create a lush green and white floral arrangement.

As the plethora of leftover blooms ebbed and flowed from one arrangement to another, as their colors and shapes faded, the Viburnum surprisingly remained vibrantly green. They were simply calling to transform into a large scale arrangement. Misty Limonium, is a great flower for they dry just as they are fresh. They created height and volume that added a softness to the bold green and white palette.

The thing I love about hydrangea is in how they dry just as, even not more beautifully than when fresh. The antique varieties had developed such lovely texture and delicate colors, and because they longer needed to be in water were carefully place at the bottom of this arrangement. The floral composition now flowed onto the table, creating one continuous line and movement. This large floral piece is a great example that there’s an advantage of using flowers in their many forms; from their freshest state, to slowly withering and once fully dried.

“To wonder is to be alive. To create wonder is to “To wonder is to be alive. To create wonder is to live.”

I can’t remember where I read this quote but it stuck with me, especially as we flow deeper into autumn.

I actually think the inspiration we connect with this season might be the most personal. We are all drawn differently to the complex textures and feelings autumn brings. And there’s is something quite wonderous when we create with the seasonal elements as they call us, especially when unexpected this time of year — whether it be in a color palette or style. It’s the art of presence in the everyday and embracing it in what we create and share with others…what a special thing that is🍃🌼

AUTUMN... the season of harvest, of preparing and AUTUMN...
the season of harvest, of preparing and easing into the colder months ahead...

but before then, we still gather the last of the garden’s gifts; the flowers and edible elements to cherish and preserve for shorter sunlit days that await us. When soon, we sink into a comfort illuminated by candles.....and yet the start of autumn never feels the same.

it can happen all at once when greens suddenly deepen and make space for the fiery reds, magnetic yellows and auburns are enveloped with a breeze that evokes the feeling of a new season. And yet, it can evolve ever so slowly, with greens remaining vibrant beneath the still sun intense, and it’s the distinctly bold but fleeting golden hour that reminds us that autumn has befallen us once more🍂

…styled moments from last year…
