Citrus Arugula Salad with Shaved Beets & Fresh Cheese

January 13, 2017 · 1 Comment

I had every intention for my first recipe post of the year to be gluten free waffles. I’ve had them at the top of my list to make, ever since having coconut flour leftover from these tartlets. It’s not often I bake totally gluten free or vegan, but when I do it’s mostly breakfast items,…

Healthy Halloween :: Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

Healthy Halloween :: Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups || Dreamery Events

Peanut butter has become one of my great loves. No seriously, I have PB every single day, and when I don’t, my day just doesn’t seem complete. As a post workout snack slathered on bananas or apples, or carrots, which seems to be something only I enjoy. Whether it’s peanut butter cookies, or ice cream,…

Apple Cider Granola

October 19, 2016 · Leave a Comment

Apple cider, it’s everywhere come Fall. And I’m not complaining one bit, in fact I can’t get enough of it. Warmed in a mug and swirled with a cinnamon stick for cozy movie nights,  baked into fresh from the farm soft and cakey donuts, and cooked into a decadent caramel. The other thing I’m loving, granola….

My Housewarming Gift Essentials

October 4, 2016 · 2 Comments

I love a good homemade gift, no matter the occasion, but especially when congratulating a loved one on a new place. If you have the opportunity to put a smile on someone who is going through the frustrating process of moving, than do it. And what’s better than being in your new home or apartment…

Vegetarian Caldo Verde {Portuguese Green Soup}

August 16, 2016 · 2 Comments

A soup post while temperatures reach the 100’s may seem pretty ironic, but when there are so many greens growing in your garden, and you’re given even more by generous neighbors, you end up with an entire refrigerator shelf of collard greens you just can’t see go to waste. When the weather is so hot, I…

Melon Cucumber + Mint Salad

July 27, 2016 · 3 Comments

After a two long days teaching children’s cooking class parties, my week started off feeling out of whack. Wednesday already, like what? What hasn’t changed, is this heat wave. It’s definitely been scorching hot but it’s summer after all, and you can expect a hot and humid one here in NJ. But I am not complaining whatsoever,…

Lemon Thyme Grilled Squid + Eggplant

June 30, 2016 · 5 Comments

One of my earliest food posts was actually one of my all time favorite dishes. It was just a regular Sunday, grilling, just my dad and I, but our meal became one I would never forget. I’d say this meal is for the more adventurous; you have to enjoy seafood, especially squid. I love squid, grew up…

Pecan + Coconut Granola

April 14, 2016 · 1 Comment

Freshly baked granola on a sunny morning, it really doesn’t get much better than that… But can we get something clear first? Do you say “Pe-caaan”, emphasis on the A, or do you say, “PEE-can”, emphasis on the E…I feel like southern states pronounce it correctly, since it’s quite possibly their signature nut. And today happens to celebrate…

Quick Cherry Jam

February 18, 2016 · 1 Comment

Okay, so I’m quickly stopping by to share a simple recipe today. With vacation in less than two weeks, design deadlines for fast approaching events must be taken care of before I can fly into Jamaican sunsets. And what’s quicker than a homemade jam. I purposely made this jam earlier this month for two reasons; to stuff…

Seven days immersing ourselves in flowers🌿🌼 Conne Seven days immersing ourselves in flowers🌿🌼
Connecting in nature, amongst foraged magic all around a quiet Portuguese village. It could not have been more idyllic.
We learned, we experimented and were encouraged to create with our intuition.
With each passing day our confidence, authentically reblooming.
With every floral piece arranged, the more they organically reflected who we are, and our stories. Each one distinctly ours, and yet collectively coming together.

Because what joy it is to work with flowers, but even more so to do it alongside others and then share it with the world✨

Sharing some reflections about our floral lessons during @chelseafussflowers retreat on Substack...

There is a certain kind of quiet when August begin There is a certain kind of quiet when August begins its end. Unlike any other stillness experienced throughout the year, it’s a distinct calmness that reminds us of summer’s final phase, how soon, it will all begin to change. It’s a quiet noticed slowly in the subtleties of life, when we pause long enough to admire it. And we bask in it because of how incredibly fleeting it is…

Fully summering because there are cosmos, zinnias, marigolds and cutleaf coneflowers still blooming🌼☀️🌸

Posy...a small bunch of simple, sweet-smelling flowers, sometimes large enough to fit in a jar or as small as fitting a pin on a jacket.

Posies became popular during the Victorian era, where they cleverly used the language of flowers to discreetly convey their not-so-secret messages. Every flower and their placement in a posy had a specific meaning.
