Classic Gingerbread Cookies

There’s nothing I look forward to more than savoring a chewy gingerbread cookie during the holidays, and maybe a slice of Bolo Rei {the Portuguese version of fruit cake} loaded with crystalized fruits and nuts. But when it comes to the winter, the rich combination of warming spices and fresh ginger flavors of gingerbread cookies, make me feel…

Christmas Quote

I’ll admit I haven’t had much Christmas jolliness, and if you know me, that’s very unlike me during this time of year. It’s not even Christmas Eve or Day that I love it’s the month leading up to it. The decorating of the house, the carols and movies, the spirit of giving and sharing, just…

Carnaval

March 4, 2014 · Leave a Comment

Carnaval is mostly well-known in Brazil, but it’s origins come from Portugal. Carnaval Portugal is a week-long celebration, where large cities decorate the streets in streamers and bright colors, holding parades with festive music, endless indulgent food, and ornate costumes. One day I’d love to experience this over the top party down south, and oversees but until…

Little Delia is turning 5 this weekend! I still ca Little Delia is turning 5 this weekend! I still can’t believe that time has passed by & I’ve been lucky to have done her birthdays since she was 1. So here’s a little walk down memory lane to all her past sweet & fun parties🌸

• 3rd I Scream for Ice Cream Bash
• 2nd Pink Sparkle & Balloons
• 1st Enchanted Forest
This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
Finding it a bit hard to stay positive today…in Finding it a bit hard to stay positive today…in truth the state of our planet weighs heavily on me daily, but especially these last few days knowing that millions of people are struggling to have the basic necessities of staying warm & having running water in their own home. It’s baffling. But this is the sad reality that we have created as humans. Decades of corporations, governments & leaders choosing profits over the value & quality of human life & of every living organism necessary to make our ecosystems thrive.

No, not the happiest of posts, but it’s honesty. We have created the rise in repeated natural disasters, pandemics & rare diseases. And until we hold these people accountable & collectively make drastic changes, then we will continue to have these in more severe cases — so yes, more diseases, more crazy things happening to our environment & the places we love. We have created this change & it’s severely impacted every facet of our lives & future.

My heart is w. everyone struggling right now, because this shouldn’t be happening. Please stay safe, check on your neighbors & loved ones. Help however way you can🤍
