Raw Summer Squash Salad

Raw Summer Squash Salad

This past weekend the garden bloomed with plenty of bright green zucchinis and yellow squashes. They’re lovely grilled or baked into cakes, but I prefer mine fresh as a salad. I topped steamed asparagus and hericots verts, with spaghetti-like ribbons of squash. When I made a batch of this, I knew extra was going to be needed, because…

Salad Starters

July 15, 2014 · 2 Comments

Working in the city means very early mornings, and late nights which doesn’t leave much room to eat, workout, relax and prepare to do it all over again. So having large batches of salad starters makes prepping my meals for the next day so much quicker. It seems like everyone is on the go now, which…

Avocado with Tomato, Basil and Carrots

November 8, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Every now and then we lose the motivation, stray away from the “good” track and cave into a bite or two more of molten chocolate cake with ice cream or feel awfully too comfortable laying on the couch catching up on the entire season of Girls. It was one thing not having time while in…

Warm Shrimp and Peach Salad

August 7, 2012 · Leave a Comment

August is National Peach Month!! How I only found this out now surprises me, considering peaches are one of my favorite foods. I still don’t understand how summer has flown by so fast either, but I’m excited to see this delicious fruit make a statement in my kitchen. There’s nothing more satisfying than a juicy…

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
