Black, White + Gold Feminine Bridal Shower

April 11, 2016 · 2 Comments

Last week was a doozy. On Friday I styled the first of two showers that weekend, an ultra feminine bridal shower. With nods to Chanel quotes and vintage glam, this bridal shower was the perfect celebration for the chicest bride-to-be. The lush floral centerpieces were black and gold trimmed boxes brimming with clouds of white hydrangea sprinkled…

Valentine's Day Inspiration: Romantic Rose Quartz Details

Last year I had the girls over for Valentine’s Day for small bites, cocktails and cookie decorating, and the year before that, I styled this sweet table scape. But this year, since I was going to be busy working on a few projects for parties I’m styling in the next few months, and heading on vacation at the end…

Early Fall Florals

September 9, 2015 · 1 Comment

Early Fall Florals

About two weeks ago I was asked to make a very last-minute floral arrangement. With no time to head to the flower market, I had to get creative with what my garden had to offer. Flowers have been scarce, left is mostly greens, foliage and a few purple dahlias, which were just beginning to bloom again. Since I…

Friday Favorites

August 9, 2013 · 1 Comment

Can you believe we have just gone through another week in August? I really don’t know where time is going lately. I felt that brisk feeling of pressure, no not stress, but pressure that time is slipping away from me far too quickly. I guess that’s what happens when you’re planning a non-profit Golf Tournament…

Wedding Inspiration {Black & White Glamour}

November 28, 2012 · 1 Comment

It seems that every time I envision a party in the winter I’m instantly drawn to a more glamorous look. Sharp black tuxedos, snow white orchids, and touches of rich burgundy lips exude that classical elegance of a Grace Kelly era. Endless candles simmering against silver and gold making it the perfect pairings for perhaps…

Wedding Inspiration {Papaya & Earthy Greens}

November 12, 2012 · Leave a Comment

It could be the rich hued autumn trees or the abundance of pumpkins that has my eye drawn to all things orange and gold. I especially love the combination of this papaya shade with my favorite sea-foam and earthy green tones. I instantly envision an ethereal look, and an overflow of the season’s greenery, like…

A Portuguese Wedding

October 9, 2012 · 1 Comment

Congratulations Marco and Patricia! This past weekend was cause for celebration, the entire family gathered for my cousin Marco’s wedding. In general, weddings in Portugal are less extravagant than the detailed affairs we are so accustomed to in America. They don’t have crystals adorning centerpieces or bridal parties or hi-tech DJ’s, yet they are beautiful…

Wedding Inspiration {Victorian Garden}

September 21, 2012 · Leave a Comment

It’s the season of deep red and purple Dahlias, festive berries, one of a kind roses and Fall foliage. These flowers were the inspiration for Bloomflora’s Vintage Garden table scape at The Atrium bridal show put on by Elegant Bridal Production. Of course I wouldn’t miss out on the opportunity to help Bloomflora {flowers, home…

BHLDN Inspired Wedding Details | Dreamery Events

I woke up today feeling beyond inspired and determined! I don’t know if it was my afternoon in the garden yesterday or the carefree attitude that I’ve been embracing for the past two months that has me feeling blissfully happy. I’m also finding myself constantly looking up weddings again…blame that on my best friend’s wedding…

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
Finding it a bit hard to stay positive today…in Finding it a bit hard to stay positive today…in truth the state of our planet weighs heavily on me daily, but especially these last few days knowing that millions of people are struggling to have the basic necessities of staying warm & having running water in their own home. It’s baffling. But this is the sad reality that we have created as humans. Decades of corporations, governments & leaders choosing profits over the value & quality of human life & of every living organism necessary to make our ecosystems thrive.

No, not the happiest of posts, but it’s honesty. We have created the rise in repeated natural disasters, pandemics & rare diseases. And until we hold these people accountable & collectively make drastic changes, then we will continue to have these in more severe cases — so yes, more diseases, more crazy things happening to our environment & the places we love. We have created this change & it’s severely impacted every facet of our lives & future.

My heart is w. everyone struggling right now, because this shouldn’t be happening. Please stay safe, check on your neighbors & loved ones. Help however way you can🤍
