Inspiring + Talented BIPOC Everyone Should Know About!! || Dreamery Events

As protests and the fight towards racial justice continue, and the support of the Black Lives Matter movement grows {as it should} many are looking for actionable steps and ways you can take part. First and foremost you can Use Your Voice, whether it’s at a protest or on your social platforms and with the people you know, it’s donating to organizations who are working for change, reaching out to local and state representatives, VOTE VOTE VOTE, and using your purchasing power to support all the inspiring, talented and amazing BIPOC individuals and brands that are turning their dreams and passion into reality.

I have fallen into a deep rabbit hole of discovery, of further learning, educating myself and understanding what it’s truly going to take to make change happen…because history has repeated itself over and over and over again, yet systems particularly the justice, like incarcerations and racial bias, education, career advancements, to name a few, haven’t really made progressive enough improvements to change the lives of BIPOC. So I’ve been using my voice on social media, donate to causes that are making change happen on local and national levels, signed petitions and connected representatives, voted and will always use my right to vote, and that rabbit hole of discover also led to discovering and re-falling in love with BIPOC who are amazing and talented in every sense.

Sure my social media platform is small, but the least I can do with it is use it to Amplify Melanted and POC’s voices — to share their unique and beautiful and empowering and innovate work with my followers, in hopes to simply spread their names to as many people as they deserves. As a small business owner, we have a duty, as does any human or business, to lift and empower each other!

While other sites and individuals have shared lists of Black Owned and BIPOC individuals sometime ago, I wanted to take my time. I wanted to intentionally and thoughtfully go through and rediscover all the individuals I’ve admired for years, I found new people and brands through their platforms, and then from those new platforms, read many lists that were circulating the internet too and the more I discovered, the more I want until I had curated a list of over 330 BIPOC!! Yes, I’m sharing the voices and work of 330+ BIPOC, and the list will continue to grow 😉

From artists and ceramists to interior designers to wedding designers, florists and environmentalists, chefs sharing recipes to salivate over, inspiring wellness and mindful gurus, unapologetic speakers and BLM advocates, soul and heart-capturing poets, beauty and fashion brands breaking ground on non-toxic and sustainable practices, and music I can listen to over and over…

Although not every single person or brand on these lists are Black, majority are. But I made sure to include people/brands from all BIPOC communities, individuals whose race or ethnicity unfortunately categorizes them into a minority group; like Asians, Native Americans, Latinx, and Indigenous.

And you will notice that a lot of these brands honor sustainable and ethical practices, are nontoxic or use organic materials — because that is how I live my life, it’s important that I use my voice to share work I fully support, believe in and would use myself. This was one of the main reasons I connected with these BIPOC and why I wanted to share them with you. I took the time to get to know them, to follow their journeys and work for a bit of time, to truly develop a “virtual” relationship with their spirit {I didn’t just want to copy and paste websites without any emotional connection to them}. Now there are sooo many individuals and businesses run by BIPOC that aren’t necessarily rooted in sustainable practices, but that’s okay, keep sharing and spreading the word about all the ones you love!! Please pass along your favorites, I want to get to know as many, and all the amazing BIPOC people and brands as possible!!

And these lists won’t end here, as I come across more BIPOC I will continuously be updating these lists with as many inspiring talents as possible, so stay tuned!!

These BIPOC will absolutely inspire you!!

Dreamery Headshot_2020

I love everything about entertaining. Flowers are my weakness, a slice of homemade pie makes my heart sing & I’m a sucker for wedding videos. Travel is a constant source of inspiration and motivation. I dream about these things, it’s true. But what I love most, is working with amazing people to create meaningful & unique celebrations…..

Woke up feeling a bit more hopeful & lighter after Woke up feeling a bit more hopeful & lighter after yesterday’s historic day. change won’t happen all at once, there is much to work on...
but for the first time in some time,
I know many are easing up those tense shoulders
& releasing a big deep breathe of relief...

it’s okay to feel good
about releasing all the energy
from the last four years,
we deserve to celebrate
letting go of that...but I do feel
this overall newfound sense of hope,
of inspiration, of drive, motivation,
one we haven’t felt in sometime,
a sigh of relief, that at least,
we’re taking the first steps
to expand & better the days ahead for all🌾🧡✨
This week may have been a lot but at least it ende This week may have been a lot but at least it ended w. pretty flowers for little Adelaide! Her 3rd birthday may not be as big as her “Some Bunny is 1” or “Peppa Pig Muddy Puddles” celebrations but her loved ones are sure to make her special day “Berry Sweet”🍓🌸
E X P A N S I O N — "the act or process of expan E X P A N S I O N — "the act or process of expanding"💫

this year I choose to expand on the
lessons last year served us...
I expand upon all my visions, dreams & intentions
I aim to expand on love, abundance, health, joy, comfort, courage, creativity, adventure, calm, authenticity, w.e big or small that makes my soul sing & thus expand upon my growth.
But I wholeheartedly hope that this year can help others expand on all the good things they want as well -- especially in global terms🤍

I haven't set resolutions in years, instead I always set intentions -- little things that become part of who I am & in turn become the steps to bring all those images I'm inspired by, into life in my own way.

I'm simplifying even more & stripping it down, choosing to always show myself, & others,
more Grace. I quite enjoy this slow but intentional path. Yes, embracing a fresh new start seems appealing, but there’s much uncertainty still to face & we have a whole year ahead of us.

There’s time to get it done so no need to rush into it...show yourself & others some grace, be a Kind human always, because anything can happen✨

Adeus 2020... It‘ll be impossible to forget you, Adeus 2020...
It‘ll be impossible to forget you, you broke us, but you also reminded us how we resilient we are. Your chapter is closed, good riddance!!

Ironically my word for 2020 was “Bliss” yet despite all the grief, the heartbreak + emotional rollercoaster I think all of us, although at times hard, did see the silver linings this past year brought. Personally, I realized early on the immense amount of Bliss that was already present in my life, perhaps more so if this year wasn’t what it was.

No, there weren’t Big Blissful moments or travels, but there was so many moments to enjoy the simple pleasures of every day. More time in the garden, a newfound excitement in the kitchen, endless cloud gazing — birdsong listening — butterfly + dragonfly catching — soothing sunsets + always stopping to smell the roses moments. Blissful moments to create whatever it was I felt like doing, moments to appreciate what truly matters in life + what of that is what always needs to be present in life. The chance to escape in the safety of nature + loved ones. The blissful opportunity to rest, to mentally wander, to learn what stillness really is.

I gave myself grace this year & a well deserved pat on the back, & I really hope you did the same!! As I sail into 2021 I remember just how important all these moments are for growth + Expansion…

Things won’t change right away but all I can wish for all of us in 2021 is abundance, health, unity, joy & Love🤍🤍
