A 90’s “Decades Of” Themed 30th Birthday

Nostalgia is a classic party as any. And when it comes to celebrating your milestone 30th birthday, many have chosen to live out their favorite decades. For Marc’s surprise 30th in May, not only were we showcasing all his favorite things from the 1990’s but we were also celebrating every decade of him. From childhood, his teen years, entering the police academy and now as a father. Guests were asked to dress up as a version of Marc when they first met or best remembered him. Each also brought along a photo of Marc throughout his “decades” which they then hung onto the uniquely fun backdrop.

Fun silver balloon and chain installations created by Melitas Balloons surrounded a life-size cutout of little Marc, as well as a larger-than-life poster board, inspired by the iconic fan posters from MTV’s TRL. It featured “I Love Marc” phrases, and all the tidbits the birthday boy loved while representing the various stages of his life. With 90’s themed accessories and glow sticks of every style, guests completed their cool decades’ outfits.

The Clubhouse was the perfect venue for this celebration. With a vibe featuring industrial details and a slight bar/club aesthetic, it was just the right atmosphere for everyone to party. Tables were simply decorated with nostalgia boxes; cassette imprinted containers filled with a variety of Marc’s favorite candies, along with all our favorite childhood games. Gameboys, slinkies, rubik’s cubes, yo-yos, Tamagotchi and lots, and lots, of stickers made for plenty of fun! Themed signs featuring more of his favorite 90’s things, famous sayings and even custom designed Lite-Brite signs, were placed throughout.

How fun is this cake created by Sweet Chaos by Amy! Easy bites and dinner were catered by Valença Restaurant, which was served on Neon colored dinnerware, because how could we not.

We certainly tapped into our inner child designing this fun 30th birthday. All inspired by personal details, three decades of the unique details that made Marc who he is now, and all the favorite things we love about 90’s nostalgia …..
