O U B A I T O R I (n.) the idea that people, like flowers, bloom in their own time and take their own individual journeys; the acceptance of not comparing oneself to others and focusing on one’s own uniqueness…
As Spring nears its end, so too do its pastel hues that now make way for the vibrant boldness of Summer colors. Without the intention of so, for a moment during the season, the garden is a rainbow of lavender. In all its varying tones, from rich violets, pretty cornflower shades, purples that ebb and flow of pink and blue undertones. Each purple petal, so delicate so full of shimmer — the kind of natural magical only nature itself can create. These soft purples are often seen amongst romantic, garden regal-like designs; but it can be equally as design forward when inspired by ikebana and modern style details.
With the garden brimming of blooms, the inspiration endless, we wanted to celebrate these distinctly beautiful flowers with effortless arrangements that told a story all on their own. One can clearly see the evolution of our spring garden, including when each flower were blooming at their most grand. The floral pieces below are to inspire your effortless summer garden creations. May it be a lesson that highlighting one or two specific in-season flowers, and even a single color, can be immensely beautiful. These designs are inspired and show a mixture of styles from organic minimalism, to Ikebana and a vintage cottagecore-like garden.

…all floral arrangements have been created using flowers homegrown in our garden, and arranged within vessels using foam free mechanics, like floral frogs…

In an organic shaped stone vessel we had ourselves some playful moments with bright and bold violet colored Dutch Iris from the garden. Arranged with sprigs of Spanish Bluebell an d Cornflower blooms already picked days away, now slightly shaped downwards. While Delphinium greens add texture and volume.

A darling floral arrangement of platinum passion Bearded Iris, in a vintage seashell shaped vessel that appears larger than one would imagine. Carefully nestled within are Spanish Bluebells…..the fairy flower.

Romantic and sexy; when organically draped across an arm, Clematis set the scene for a delicate passion…..
Clematis are that delicate bloom one would consider all things pretty and dainty. It is gorgeously organic in its movement and flow, as a designer we’re lucky and honored we can allow this lovely bloom to do its own thing when in arrangements. The way it drapes, intertwines, and climbs upwards and outwards. Clematis add elegance, romance and whimsy to any floral design — but I think they make the most impact singularly on their own.
In small vessels, arranged as a bouquet meant to be enjoyed and celebrated briefly, as these blooms prefer to be in water once cut. Or simply cut and placed in tiny bud vases and grouped together, as we have done below. This is an effortless way to style a tablescape, by using numerous single stem clematis vases one creates the optical illusion a floral runner along your table.
