The holiday season is definitely a special time of year. It’s a pretty, food and celebration-filled time when we spend extra time with family and friends. Aside from making my Thanksgiving week schedule and looking forward to spending the holiday with my family, my mind has been all about Christmas. I mean I have been watching Chrismtas movies…

How To : Rustic Chalk Paint Mason Jars

March 16, 2016 · 4 Comments

The number one tip I offer and often do for my clients to save them money when decorating for a party, it’s to make the containers or vases for florals. Especially when it comes to mercury glass, the bigger the vase the more expensive. So I often encourage creativity when saving money, like interpreting the look already…

How To: Fixing Scuffed Heels

How To: Painted Heels

I love these pair of heels, they are my favorite, if you couldn’t tell by all the scuff marks below. But they were worn plenty of times with love to weddings, with summer dresses or casual dates. They aren’t these amazingly beautiful shoes, but I love the skin tone color, the medium but super comfortable heel, and…

It definitely took me some time and effort, but it was so worth with. These Moroccan inspired blankets are meant…

Traveling to ..... atop the picturesque views of Nazaré's coastline || The Sitio

2015 was one creative year! Along with lots of dessert orders, The Dreamery has started to grow bigger on the event styling and planning side, and I couldn’t be more happy about the parties I styled this year, and excited for all the projects coming up next year! This past year I created and shared…

How To: Sweater + Tassel Pillow

How To: Sweater + Tassel Pillow

I had the best of intentions to recreate another old sweater I had, using this how-to with this sequined “brave” lettered diy, but I didn’t like how my font turned out. Instead, I improvised with a pile of pillows laying in the attic that needed some updating. Cable knit and wool aren’t just for wearing, I love a cable…

We connect & interpret it in so many personal ways — some of us are drawn to the beauty in the soft muted tones, while others it’s the bright rich hues. Each view & approach, a special way of embracing color✨🌿🌈And I am here for all it!

“Ikebana; the Japanese art of flower arranging t “Ikebana; the Japanese art of flower arranging that emphasizes form & balance — symbolizing the beauty & essence of all components in Nature working in harmony. Ikebana expresses strong emotions through its four principles of a fresh approach, movement, balance & harmony, while highlighting its three elements; line, color & mass.

Ikebana designs use fewer stems that are intentionally arranged to reflect the balance of opposing elements. Ikebana floral art is a reflection of the person creating it & its evolving story.”

This year I’m challenging myself each month to create a design. Whether it be a centerpiece or tablescape, I want to expand & challenge my creativity, skills & ever-flowing ideas. It’s a perfect way for me to create for the sake of creating while inspiring you with joyful pieces & help others see unlikely designs with a new perspective.

I was naturally drawn to the traditional artform of Ikebana, for it takes the simplest elements & transforms them into designs that evoke an immense emotion. For me there is so much power & beauty in that, but also why I think it’s not as understood or appreciated as elaborate floral designs.

I stumbled upon this forgotten small blue & white dish, thought how perfect it would be to capture the story of “Winter Blues” — not the sadness of the bitter season, but the emotion of a fresh clean slate where Nature is bare, minimal & calm, yet open to all the possibilities of the unknown … using a few sprigs of Blue Thistle & the inspiration of Ikebana intentions, this tiny delight was made💙

Dreamery is a bespoke event and floral design brand focusing on gatherings of all sizes, stylings, home, decor and the limitless creative projects yet to be envisioned. Nature, travel, old world treasures & slow living are my constant inspiration.
