These days we’re all finding ourselves within our homes more so than normal, whether it’s the unfortunate result of a global crisis, or when life was running somewhat normal and we were retreating indoors during the cold bitter days of winter. Home is where we pursuing our passions and let our creative spirits run wild and even where we gather with loved ones celebrating whatever wonderful moment life gives us …..whatever the reason or the situation, our lives revolve around wherever it is we call, home.
Where some have the complete package of loving the town the live in, feeling that the location completes their “home,” others have to make due until their setting changes. The constant that remains is our house, our apartment, cabin, mobile home — wherever it is we retreat, live and lay our heads each night. We may not always have the control of the outside or physicality of our home, but what we certainly can control is how our space makes us feel. And it should always make you feel calm, happy and joyful, and absolutely at peace!
When life’s demands are nonstop, our homes are our refuge, our sanctuary. I’ve always believed in the concept that to create a “home” you don’t need a lot of money, you simply need to follow your heart. I much prefer to go shopping within the items I already have, even better amongst the treasures of family, often finding heirlooms and one of kind pieces that I will cherish whenever I spot them within my home and for years to come. I love thrifting and vintage shopping, searching for the old that is always beautiful — even with a few scratches, chipped paint or wobbly pieces. With a little love and tender care, old pieces can always become new, and even more beautiful pieces that can create a truly personal and special home!
Nowwww, that isn’t to say I don’t buy “new” pieces when I decorate my spaces, but I often save it for Art! I love incorporating new pieces of framed art and paintings, but particularly my favorite photographs from travels around the world. When Photowall, a Swedish wallpaper and art company that had already caught my eye, wanted to collaborate on a piece, I of course jumped on the chance to add something new into my space! If you haven’t heard of Photowall, then take a few moments to take a look at their collections, you’ll instantly see why their “mission is to help people fill their wall with great art…that the wall of a room affects how we feel.”
I was well aware of their gorgeous and unique collections of wallpaper and wall murals, but currently wasn’t in the market nor had the space to take on a wallpaper design project, as much as I would love to. So I was exceptionally excited when I found out they offer so many more lovely pieces to decorate our walls; from canvas prints, to posters and even framed prints. They have a large selection from designer and artist images, or you can choose to create your own!
And I knew exactly what I wanted…a framed print of one of my favorite photographs taken traveling through Ireland and the Cliffs of Moher. For some time I had been wanting to have this image enlarged and placed in my bedroom, and now was the serendipitous moment!
This piece is a beautiful reminder of those travels, that calming and perfect moment…and looking at it each morning when I wake up, is one of the loveliest parts of my day. I often find my gaze drifting towards it, loving how amazingly Photowall put it together. I chose the natural wood frame to compliment both the natural colors of the landscape in the photograph and of my bedroom.
When I styled it on my dresser and then on my wall, the piece felt at home. And it certainly made my bedroom even more soothing and calming, more like “home” in every sense!
Another reason why I love Photowall, they happen to be environmentally conscious, making products only to order so there aren’t an excess amount of products being stored or thrown out if not sold. Their wallpaper printing ink also contains no solvents or hazardous chemicals, and is biodegradable. And personally that was very important to me, as I had made the personal decision several months ago to forgo making any new purchases unless necessary, or sparked joy, and had to be sustainable and not harmful towards the planet.
Photowall checks off all those things, which is why it’s become a favorite of mine!
I’m itching to use one of their wallpapers one day, perhaps a beautiful floral or forest wall in a office Or how lovely and magical would that be in one of your child’s room?! It would be soo pretty and fun for sure!
Photowall is passionate about helping you transform your home to reflect your personality whether its through their wallpaper and print selections, which is why they’re so generously offering all my readers a 25% discount until June 20th, 2020 so that you too, can bring a new treasure and beautiful piece into your home!!

I understand these days life and financial means are a bit harder, and conscious spending is important to follow. But maybe you’ve done a great job at unnecessary product spending and might choose to invest your extra in a beautiful high quality treasure or project to make your home feel even more special and peaceful!
I know that I’m soo happy with my framed print, especially during these uncertain days. This piece is one that has certainly brought me an immense amount of joy during this time!
