You’ve joined me as we’ve admired every beautiful room, hallway and corner of the Palacio Nacional de Queluz. We’ve promenaded along their lovely Gardens and gazed onto their ornate fountains. Now, let me show my favorite part; its intricate and captivating details. The details, so rich and dense, yet so delicate and calming. Details that innately draw your eye as close as one is allowed to go.
The juxtaposition of old royal glamour, with a modern flair of mixing patterns, colors and shapes — is pure art. The painted walls beautifully aged, their colors fading and chipped away. No modern hand could ever replicate this beauty, only the natural power of time could do so. The fabric wallpapers that shimmered in the sunlight, all with their own distinct, dainty pattern that require one to stop and truly look upon it to see its richness. Patterns and colors that blend with equally gorgeous painted ceilings, all telling their own unique story.
Each ceiling a grand piece of historical art, its complexity pairing wondrously with every element within the space. One would assume how could such contrast work so naturally, but it does. It’s one thing I always recommend when traveling anywhere, take it slow and always, always, look up! You never know what magic is right above you.
This is a world of wonder I still dream about, one I excitedly anticipate my return. Hour after hour, captivated by the endless intricate details, my creative spark was renewed and refreshed like no other. The inspiration reinvigorated and expanded within me with endless visions and dreams.
No need for too many words, I will let these gorgeous details do all the talking. These photographs simply do not honor the beauty that is the Palacio de Queluz. Only when experiencing it in person does one understand how truly special it is.
