Jenny & Roberto’s Gatsby Inspired Wedding

September 21, 2016 · 2 Comments

Jenny + Roberto's Gatsby Inspired Wedding | Dreamery EventsOver the past year, I’ve shared several milestone celebrations from this beautiful couple, who happen to be my wonderful cousins. I was honored, not to mention ecstatic, about being able to help plan and style their Gatsby inspired backyard bridal shower, and then just a few months ago, baby Luca’s adorable puppy and storybooks shower. Yes, there’s an even bigger, more important celebration that happened before baby, a wedding! To be honest, I’ve had these stunning photographs by Ripped Hat Photography for some time, but totally forgot to share them with you, until today!

Jenny + Roberto's Gatsby Inspired Wedding | Dreamery EventsThis couple’s main inspiration for their wedding was the Great Gatsby. From iconic book quotes on their save the dates, to Jenny’s bridal brunch with endless bubbly, and their art deco gilded invitations, you knew right away the look they were going for. A simplistic and modern take on vintage glam.

Jenny + Roberto's Gatsby Inspired Wedding | Dreamery EventsThe bride stunned in her beaded gown, and was the embodiment of 1920’s glamour with signature vintage finger waves and the perfect red lip. Let’s not forget the dapper groom, who stood out in his custom tan suit. And no bow tie for this handsome fellow, he opted for a fun printed tie.

Jenny + Roberto's Gatsby Inspired Wedding | Dreamery EventsJenny + Roberto's Gatsby Inspired Wedding | Dreamery EventsThis laid-back duo’s main goal was to not fuss over the small details, especially on their big day. I was asked to come on board the month before to help with flowers and a few decor pieces, like these adorable map roses for their travel inspired guest book table, hand lettered mirror table numbers and seating chart that was oh-so roaring 20’s.

Then again, when your reception is held at the Crystal Plaza’s beautiful grand ballroom, you don’t really need much else to achieve to the Gatsby feel. Gold detailing on the walls, regal candelabras and one stunning crystal chandelier above, what ended up being one of the funnest dance parties!

Jenny + Roberto's Gatsby Inspired Wedding | Dreamery EventsJenny + Roberto's Gatsby Inspired Wedding | Dreamery EventsThe flowers were equal parts romantic and modern. Soft pretty blush roses and dusty miller were organically grouped together with whimsical billy balls. And Jenny’s bouquet was just the chicest with succulents and orchids.

The details Jenny and Roberto did choose to focus on, were all symbols of their personality. Miniature favor bottles of Meyer’s Mark bourbon for their love of a good cocktail, a Tequila bar during cocktail hour for the bride’s Mexican heritage, Portuguese appetizers for the groom’s family, and music of all genres for this dancing loving crowd.

Not just a dessert buffet or food truck, but a whole bakery display was set up by the venue as guests made their way out. Guys, there were donuts on a spit, enough said. I know several guests were thankful for those treats the next morning!

Just gorgeous!

Jenny + Roberto's Gatsby Inspired Wedding | Dreamery EventsJenny and Roberto’s wedding was timeless, classic, traditional, fun, personal, and romantic. It was the dreamiest of days, and looking back at these beautiful photographs by Ripped Hat has me reliving this wonderful wedding day again. Even if it was over a year ago, I’m still honored to have been a part of it. I can’t believe these two have been married a year already, and have blessed our family with the handsome little Luca.

Wishing you many more years of love you two!

I’ve never been one to connect with the color pu I’ve never been one to connect with the color purple much, & yes I believe everyone connects to colors in certain ways. And yet, Clematis are some of my favorite flowers🌿

For a brief few Spring days each year, the garden is a vision of purples....deep rich violets that almost look black, their sheen like velvet, delicate lavenders & pretty mauves that flutter in the breeze. Nature is a true delight for the soul🤍

They’re calling for a too hot, too soon kind of weekend, but we’ll be surrounded w. love celebrating a special wedding at a lovely location! Hope this weekend brings you moments of rest & joy, that allow you to look at all that is blooming🌱…
tiny joyous things🌿 ... I try not to lose sight tiny joyous things🌿 ... I try not to lose sight of the fact I get to create & "work" w. beautiful flowers; one of the things I love so much & one of the joyful parts of creating & sharing my work w. others. But this whole social media thing is weird right, the world is weird & broken right now -- as creatives seems like are new age question is "do I post this pretty picture when this is really happening right now?! but it's also kind of my job to put my work out there for others to see, right?!" ... but I’m learning, funny enough, by some inspiring women on this platform, it's ok to feel all these things while also sharing the joyous, cool & helpful things we are all working on, creating & hoping to bring into this world. Life is filled w. beautiful & sad moments, happiness, joy, grief, fear, doubt, love. All the tiny things🤍

& if anyone watched last night's This is Us, how beautiful was their telling of one's final moments, looking back at life. Ugh my heart😢
There’s one word to describe the first full even There’s one word to describe the first full event of the season…ethereal🤍

Event season is in full swing & it’s nice to finally step aside from planning to bring all the ideas, time & details to life!

May is the start of a busy few months of events, so I’m going to make sure I prioritize Rest whenever I can. But also plenty of garden days, living & cherishing simple moments — because when the busy days will feel like a blur or the state of the world (big/small) only adds to the mental drain, I know these will be the things that keep me going🤍
