Happy Friday and officially mid-September. How did that happen? Routines are getting back on track and the kiddos are back in school. And today we’re celebrating the end of the first week of school for the darling Olivia. Her momma is simply the best, just look how lovely her blog is, and I love working with her on her daughters’ birthday celebrations. Delia’s first was an enchanting woodland, and just earlier this week I welcomed Olivia to school with her custom 1st day of school board.
Her 3rd birthday back at the beginning of July was tropical, colorful and infused with lots of fun dinosaur touches. When you hear that a little darling loves these ancient creatures so much that she wanted her birthday party, you know she’s the kind of gal you want to hang out with.
And that day was indeed the tropics because the unpredictable rain spurts seemed like those encountered in the tropics. But this birthday girl and her loving guests made it work, even if it meant moving tables and chairs back and forth.
Making a dinosaur theme birthday just pretty enough for a girl can be somewhat of a challenge but it’s one I loved taking on. The key to styling any lovely tropical and dinosaur party is greens! And lots of them! This birthday made me fall more in love with tropical greens, especially Monstera leaves, I just love them, and they are defintely the perfect detail you need to create a dainty dinosaur look.
The grand focal point was the dessert table. This was probably my favorite thing to put together, especially that colorful flowy backdrop made to look like the scales of a cute dinosaur. Isn’t it just beautiful, and adds a sweet lightness to the theme. Of course no Dinoasaur birthday party is complete without gold ROAR balloons!
The backdrop sure was pretty, but the real crowd pleasure was the very sweet array of dessert bites that fit the theme, provided by Sweet Chaos by Amy, perfect for all the hungry “Sweetivores”.
The thing about the Alves’ children parties, there is always plenty of fun to have. Olivia and the other adorable kiddos were first treated to face painting, fake tattoos, balloon animals, cotton candy and then a magic show! While it rained, the kept themselves busy coloring dinosaurs images and creating there own colorful creatures. There was even a Dinosaur Adoption Station where each child took home their very own dinosaur.
The sun did come out for sometime just in time for Olivia to play with her Dinosaur friend. She absolutely loved it. I mean doesn’t your heart just melt seeing her being pushed on the swing and blowing bubbles with the Dinosaur. It was the cutest. By the enf of the night, Olivia had covered her Dino friend with stickers and then retreated inside to open all her dinosaur theme gifts. This feisty girl is the best, I hope you don’t lose your love of dinosaurs. Wishing you all the luck on your 1st year of school!
