Parties and get-togethers, whether something small like a dinner party or more formal like a baby shower, really don’t need a theme, all you need is a vision of how you want your guests and the atmosphere to feel. Add in some pretty and specific details, and everything else will fall into place. When first time mommy-to-be Jane reached out about her baby shower I was pleased to get to work together again after her wedding. Her vision for her sweet boy was a traditional baby shower focused on the simplistic beauty of mixed greens and pretty white flowers, with a hint of adorable bow ties, teddy bears and lovely shades of dusty blue. With loved ones gathered it was a delightful afternoon showering Jane and Baby Preguiça with love. See all the details below…
Dessert table displays are always a great way to make a statement and bump up the details to showcase your vision. This is where we let the greenery, dusty blue and gold tones shine alongside cute bow ties. More Than a Gift created the dreamy backdrop of flowy white linens, greenery and a fun “Oh Baby” sign.
Candle are a must for any celebration in my book, they always make things a bit more romantic and special. But so were the florals, also created by More Than a Gift, in a antique-like gold vases with pretty mixed textured greens, and white flowers like Roses, Lisanthus and Veronica flower. White, Blue, and Gray Bow Tie cookies and Chocolate Covered Strawberries fit with tiny little bow ties, created by Jamm Events, added just the right amount of the “Little Man Bow Tie” theme. And nothing beats a simple white tiered cake and a glittery cake topper with a fun bow tie too!
Jane decided to go with these sweet greenery and teddy bear invitations, which lended themselves beautiful as the inspiration for the rest of the details. It was also the perfect way to blend the specific details of teddy bears and bow ties. A loved one created this diaper tower, topped with an adorable Teddy Bear Baby Preguiça will cherish once born, and it became such a pretty focal point to the activity corner.
All the game cards and signs resembled the invitation, featuring that sweet bear, of course fitted with a dainty bow tie 😉 Cluster of baskets and crates were setup for guests to place their diapers for the Raffle, as well as books that were brought to fill Baby’s library. Another sweet and simple activity to offer at a Baby Shower is to Decorate a Baby Block. A gold tray setup with wooden alphabet blocks and paint markers were great for guests to grab, head back to their table and color. It’s another lovely piece that Baby can cherish for years of play and decorate their nursery.
Guest tables were kept simple but beautiful, draped in dreamy dusty blue chiffon runners, gold table numbers and flickery votive candles, and lovely florals More Than a Gift created. Guests were treated as always fun potted succulents in tiny white pails, with cute bow tie wearing Teddy Bears 😉
Each table also featured activity boxes with printed “Who Said What? Mommy or Daddy” game cards, as well as White Onesies and Bow Ties to decorate. Since we were still following Covid protocols, it was an easy way for guests to enjoy themselves and fun, without mingling and moving around too much. Guests enjoyed coming together as a table to decorate a Onesie that Mommy would then pick as her favorite.
It was such a pleasure to work with Jane and Michael on another special milestone. I’m wishing them and their growing family all the love, health and happiness!
And I hope you enjoyed and are inspired by this lovely Baby Shower!
