When it comes to children parties, they’re only getting more creative and personal! Despite party theme trends coming and going, there are a select few that have become classic children event themes because of their versatility to adapt. One of my favorites, has been the Enchanted Forest! It’s one of those children party themes that can be completely fairytale-like as if transported to a mystical forest, or it can take on a totally modern and cool minimalist feel too! When Luciana’s lovely momma reached out about working together again for Luciana’s 1st birthday hoping for an enchanted forest, the vision quickly unfolded in my mind! I wanted to blend the whimsy of butterflies and magical woodland touches in a more minimalist way, the result — wildflowers in lovely hues, magically nestled in glass cloches as if each table were it’s own pretty enchanting forest, pressed flowers and pretty calligraphy made for one of my favorite seating charts, and delicately decorated desserts atop an ivy draped wood swing. And yes those are two beautiful cakes connected with a dreamy boho dried flower topper! What a delight it was to bring this party to life, hope you enjoy all the lovely details below…
Since Enchanted Forest is a popular theme, it can easily become overdone and repetitive, so we wanted to create details that we haven’t quite seen. One of the very first ideas that came to mind was for the seating chart. A longtime lover of pressed flowers, I envisioned the delicateness of pressed flower acrylics with pretty pink calligraphy, atop wood blocks and asparagus fern simply draped with more rustic woods, butterflies, golden forest creatures and twinkling candlelight. I love how this display came out; sweet and simple, modern and boho…it truly captured the vision of Luciana’s Enchanted Forest!
When it came to centerpieces, there’s something so magical about creating small enchanted worlds of moss, wildflowers and dainty butterflies. Moss covered and gold votives candles, wood slabs and table numbers gave each table a bit of that natural rustic feel. For an unexpected detail and pop of color, place settings were topped with pale yellow napkins and custom wood napkin rings with pink tassels. It was a unique “enchanted forest”detail that made each table really special.
The true statement piece of Luciana’s 1st birthday was her wooden swing dessert display, delicately draped with fresh ivy vines, as if it was naturally nestled in an enchanting corner of nature. Then there are the beautiful cakes and desserts Carsan Artistic Cakes made — perfectly matching the colors and the daintiness of the dried floral hoop topper that connected both cakes.
Sugar cookies in pastel hues of lavender, blush pink, dusty rose, olive green and piped flowers, butterflies in varying colors, sizes and shapes, more woodland creatures, rustic tree trunks and bundles of dreamy baby’s breath. It’s small details like this, that create a personal and one-of-a-kind event despite being a trending or popular theme.
How sweet is this children’s activity table! Petite Seats has such a great selection of children sized furniture to rent, we went with the classic white farm table and the adorable rattan bow chairs, of which I want one for myself 🙂 Luciana and her fairy friends stayed creative and entertained coloring and painting their own fairy houses.
As a thank you, each guest was gifted with a beautiful photo of Luciana. We offered three different styles of frames for each person to choose; from a boho wood floral, a textured gilded leaf frame and varying vintage gold frames. Each one different, but perfectly complimenting each other and the rest of the decor.
