In almost every floral piece I hand off or create for a special occasion, there is always a foraged stem or two from my garden, no matter the season…and come Autumn there are those certain blooms whose seasonal transformation I look forward to every year. This year, between back to back events and a trip, I knew my time creating arrangements with these, mostly dried blooms would be limited. But the deep wine colored alumroot leaves that resemble velvet and rust colored dried astilbe I love so much were the perfect foraged nod to the season to include in Aneesa’s bridal shower centerpieces. The intention was to create an organic mixture of blooms that simply exuded the Autumn season in every rich deep hue of Terracotta!
There were modern statement making peach Atrium, peach Ranunculus, a dark almost redder terracotta Chrysanthemum, the perfect shade of Dahlias, and hints of white Lisianthus and mini Carnations … that perfectly blended with a mixture of dried olive branches, palm leaves, rice grass, baby’s breath, astrantia and foraged garden stems that is Nature showing off its best Autumn self like astilble, blue thistle and alumroot
You can see more gorgeous photos taken by Sarah Churchhill here, of this floral arrangement that is too lovely for the Autumn season and celebrations, including Thanksgiving! Enjoy …
