Spring Transitions :: Bloom

March 20, 2024 · Leave a Comment

…B L O O M…

blossom by blossom, bloom by bloom…
when Spring bursts of colors in every hue, Nature comes alive once more.
Textures and shapes so intricate and delicate, a delight to the eye. A piece of magic only mother nature could create. Our souls are uplifted. Our bodies energized by the dirt ‘neath are fingernails, and the glow of our cheeks reflecting in the golden sun.

As spring continues to evolve and transform itself, so too we shed our petals and are reminded to embrace this season of subtle renewal, and make space for all that may Bloom…

In this styling, we were inspired to bring this following stage of spring to life, by incorporating a variety of versatile and currently abundant grass bushes, like bear grass but in a creatively reinvented way. Inspired by the tree branches now all ready to enter their next beautiful phase of growth, now showcasing off their loveliest Blooms.

Like Hellebore floral blooms that remind me of cherry blossoms, and these, were blooming at their grandest. The petals, aged and slightly wilted, as with time spent in the warmer sun of late spring. The winter herbs that persevere through the cold and are harvested in early spring, work perfectly within floral designs and arrangements. Here my garden winter savoy has been growing and expanding its tiny petaled stems, making for a lovely addition to this modern floral centerpiece.

Florals Used…

Hellebores

“To wonder is to be alive. To create wonder is to “To wonder is to be alive. To create wonder is to live.”

I can’t remember where I read this quote but it stuck with me, especially as we flow deeper into autumn.

I actually think the inspiration we connect with this season might be the most personal. We are all drawn differently to the complex textures and feelings autumn brings. And there’s is something quite wonderous when we create with the seasonal elements as they call us, especially when unexpected this time of year — whether it be in a color palette or style. It’s the art of presence in the everyday and embracing it in what we create and share with others…what a special thing that is🍃🌼

AUTUMN... the season of harvest, of preparing and AUTUMN...
the season of harvest, of preparing and easing into the colder months ahead...

but before then, we still gather the last of the garden’s gifts; the flowers and edible elements to cherish and preserve for shorter sunlit days that await us. When soon, we sink into a comfort illuminated by candles.....and yet the start of autumn never feels the same.

it can happen all at once when greens suddenly deepen and make space for the fiery reds, magnetic yellows and auburns are enveloped with a breeze that evokes the feeling of a new season. And yet, it can evolve ever so slowly, with greens remaining vibrant beneath the still sun intense, and it’s the distinctly bold but fleeting golden hour that reminds us that autumn has befallen us once more🍂

…styled moments from last year…
