Oh avocado toast, you deliciously simple dish. It’s a perfect meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The toppings and creations are endless. Curry Spiced Quinoa + Kale Stuffed Acorn Squash

January 18, 2016 · Leave a Comment

Ever since becoming a vegetarian, well a lacto-ovo-pescatarian {in simpler terms, I don’t eat any meat – fish, eggs, cheese, and milk are part of my diet}, it’s been a journey to not view my food choices as part of a “diet”, but rather adapting to a new eating lifestyle. Coming from a family of…

February Highlights

I seriously don’t know where this month went. It flew by in the blink of an eye, maybe because I was beyond busy trying to juggle different work schedules, balancing my life in between, and overcoming some emotional hardships, which I discussed earlier this week here. It’s definitely been a whirlwind of a month, and…

Seared Chimichurri Tofu with Caramelized Fennel and Celery

With January focused on getting back to an active lifestyle, I began eating clean once agin, but this time I’m not just doing this detox, I’m going to focus on finally committing to a clean lifestyle. I recently just picked up a copy of Clean State from the editors of Martha Stewart. My goal has been…

Favorite Recipes of 2014

2014 is coming to close and I can’t believe how fast this year has gone by! As I sit down reminiscing over memories from this past year, I’m reminded of all the delicious recipes I tried and remade this year. One of my goals for 2014 was to become more adventurous in the kitchen, making a new macaroon…

Friday Favorites

It’s beginning to look, and feel, a lot like fall here on the east coast this week. I’ll take the beautiful color changing trees, and comforting seasonal flavors, but as for the brisk weather that has me grabbing a light sweater and rain boots, that I’m just not ready for. Can I have my daily dose of…

Spent a gloomy afternoon crafting Brisker days this past week, feel like Fall is nearing too soon, and I’m dreading the end of Summer. The carefree days, and weekends spent enjoying the great outdoors as long as the sunshine allows us. Instead of focusing on the negative and how much I don’t enjoy the cooler…

It’s been another quiet week, and for someone like myself who can’t sit back and not do much, recovery from knee surgery has been a challenge. I haven’t spent hours conjuring new recipes in the kitchen, or going to the farmer’s market, or even worse been able to work in the garden, but these quiet…

Lentil “Meat”balls with Vegan Pesto

April 8, 2014 · 4 Comments

Being in the kitchen makes me happy, especially when I’m experimenting with different recipes, recreating dishes into healthy or more figure friendly options. Lentils are a friend of mine, except that time I ate them everyday then couldn’t look at them for a while. I make a big batch at the beginning of the week,…

We connect & interpret it in so many personal ways — some of us are drawn to the beauty in the soft muted tones, while others it’s the bright rich hues. Each view & approach, a special way of embracing color✨🌿🌈And I am here for all it!

“Ikebana; the Japanese art of flower arranging t “Ikebana; the Japanese art of flower arranging that emphasizes form & balance — symbolizing the beauty & essence of all components in Nature working in harmony. Ikebana expresses strong emotions through its four principles of a fresh approach, movement, balance & harmony, while highlighting its three elements; line, color & mass.

Ikebana designs use fewer stems that are intentionally arranged to reflect the balance of opposing elements. Ikebana floral art is a reflection of the person creating it & its evolving story.”

This year I’m challenging myself each month to create a design. Whether it be a centerpiece or tablescape, I want to expand & challenge my creativity, skills & ever-flowing ideas. It’s a perfect way for me to create for the sake of creating while inspiring you with joyful pieces & help others see unlikely designs with a new perspective.

I was naturally drawn to the traditional artform of Ikebana, for it takes the simplest elements & transforms them into designs that evoke an immense emotion. For me there is so much power & beauty in that, but also why I think it’s not as understood or appreciated as elaborate floral designs.

I stumbled upon this forgotten small blue & white dish, thought how perfect it would be to capture the story of “Winter Blues” — not the sadness of the bitter season, but the emotion of a fresh clean slate where Nature is bare, minimal & calm, yet open to all the possibilities of the unknown … using a few sprigs of Blue Thistle & the inspiration of Ikebana intentions, this tiny delight was made💙

Dreamery is a bespoke event and floral design brand focusing on gatherings of all sizes, stylings, home, decor and the limitless creative projects yet to be envisioned. Nature, travel, old world treasures & slow living are my constant inspiration.
